“Now a wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Shame that the overall ratings for this place are so low - it was an excellent choice for my stay in Nice. Reading past reviews, it seems the hotel was of poor quality before its renovation. Now however it has lovely rooms and great service.

A 10 minute from the train station, it is situated close to a main road in the heart of the shopping district. It is also fairly close to the old town and coast, giving it a great location overall.

The room was decently spacious and new, with a large (by French hotel standards) bathroom. The bed was quite comfortable and my room had a small balcony overlooking the street. WiFi worked seamlessly in my room and was easy to log into.

Had the buffet breakfast, which for 12 euro was decent if not amazing. They did have an awesome pastry though the morning I ate there. Service was friendly and helped arrange a taxi for my early morning flight.

Overall after their supposed renovation this hotel is quite a steal. Highly recommended by me.

Perfect place to stay in Nice. Hotels at the famous Promenade des Anglais are horribly expensive, and this one offers a great location at a good price. It is located at a pretty street just a few minutes walk from the Promenade and the sea.

Comfortable beds, clean, big rooms and bathrooms, air-condition. free Wi-Fi, safe in the room big enough to house any laptop. Friendly staff. Lots of restaurants and bars within five minutes walk from the hotel.

Breakfast is not included and 12 EUR for rather modest buffet or 6 for "continental" (two small croissants, coffee and juice) is a bit too much. You may eat much better for much less thanks to one of grocery stores nearby.

Warning: when taking a taxi in Nice negotiate the price first or ask the driver to switch on the meter. Several times we saw "libre" (free) on the meter and the price depended on the current mood of the driver. Ask the reception, and they'll provide punctual and comfortable transport to the airport at a good price.

This hotel is well situated, 2, 5, 10 minute walk in any direction and you stumble across another square for sipping coffee & people watching.
This hotel is clean, modern and the abrupt manner of reception staff is just a french thing, nothing personal.
I didn't take breakfast in hotel as there is so many good places to eat outdoors.
The hotel is in a good neighbourhood surrounded by stylish boutiques and restaurants.
You can walk outdoors safely late into the night, many nights we walked along the promenade till 1.30am
I'd stay at this hotel again if we return to Nice.

Recently refurbished, clean, modern, nice breakfast room, great location, quiet room facing an inner courtyard.

Refurbishing other floors meant using the stairs as the elevator during working hours was used by contractors; minor dust in stairwell; front office staff were technically inept (they weren't interested in helping me make a collect telephone call; I went across the street to another Hotel and they placed the call for me!!).

Very nice breakfast (optional) in the basement, with helpful staff in attendance.

Very central location in Nice....great place to stay and see Nice and Cote d'Azur.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the inner courtyard...........very quiet and peaceful.

Welcoming staff. Arrived early so they let us wash and change and leave luggage. Similarly on leaving, we spent the afternoon on the beach having checked out at noon. We were then able to return, wash and change and collect luggage later.
Easy walking distance for nearly all the sights and the beach. Excellent restaurants near by. Good, clean room though bathroom a trifle small. We had a great view from our balcony of church next door.
Only negatives - breakfast at 12 euros was not up to much. Only hot dishes were toast and boiled egg which you did yourself.
Lift broke down and was not fixed before we left nearly 24 hours later. Did provide a bell boy for luggage but would have been a problem for those unable to climb the stairs.

Pleasantly decorated. Appears to be a recent refurbishment.

Comfortable and large bed.

Nice room. We had an executive room which was large by European standards.

Basic amenities in the room consistent with its three star rating.
Reasonable quality breakfast.

Shower flooded the floor due to poor design. But we had plenty of towels to mop up the floor.

The lift broke down, and staff offered to help carry our bags AFTER we had already carried them three floors. However the staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Nice location halfway between beach and railway station.

I had originally booked at non refundable rates for the incorrect month via Agoda. When I realised, the hotel happily refunded my money and I was then able to book the correct nights. I was very pleased about this.

I stayed here for 2 nights by myself and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
The staff were welcoming, the room was comfortable and in a good location - easy walk to the train station and beach. I would probably stay there again next time I'm in Nice.
