I would highly recommend this hotel
It is very comfortable and clean
The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful
The breakfasts are some of the best I have ever had in France
It's location is pretty good about 15 minutes walk from the old town and something similar to the train station

Room Tip: There is no lift so if need be try and get a room on the first floor

It is a small hotel in the centre of Nice. We received a good impression already when booking a room, the staff was always attentive and helpful. We needed some documents from the hotel for a visa, so we got them fast and without any problems.

Then, we liked the hotel itself. It is very coisy and makes a good impression. Our room was small, but it wasn't any problem for us. The only thing that confused us was the fact that one may not eat in the room (it's mentioned in the booklet that is the room). :S
The room, the shower, breakfast were all good. Breakfast is a typical continental but one can choose from many things.

The hotel is a little bit far from the coast, there is a 15-20 min walk from it. But I think the location is great! It is not too far from the sea, and in the same time it is in the centre of the town, close to the railway stations and other places.

We really enjoyed our stay in Nice! And the hotel played not a minor role in it.

It has only been a day since we pleft the Star hotel, Nice, France.

About 10-15min away from the Nice Ville station, this is a hotel in a well-placed location. From the station, we passed by the main shopping street, before turning into a small lane at Monoprix supermarket where the hotel is situated. It was a fairly simple walk. Hotel is in a safe and quiet location, which was also about 7min from the Place Massena, and about 10-12 min to Cour Saleya. So, quite well located if you like to walk, otherwise there's always the tram about 5min away at the main street.

We check-in with a friendly lady who later proved to be a great help as she gave us clear directions on how to explore the area and where to take the bus to nearby Eze (which we liked). She was really helpful and took the time to explain what we needed to know (from a local perspective).

The room was compact but good enough for us. More like a hostel space, but bed was comfortable, n they cleaned the room well, so no complaints from us. : ) hotel staff was always friendly and full of smiles which made our day at Nice. We particularly like to walk out in the morning to the market for our breakfast.

Good & friendly stay definitely made all the difference in our stay in Nice!

We did stay on this small but good hotel in Nice for 5 days .We didn't expect much of a 2 star hotel , actually only looked at the location .
But first we were recieved by the Russian/Engish/French speaking girl ,smiling and really letting us know that we were velcome . Also she used much time explaining everything about the city and how to get around .
Then we got our room ,small as expected ,but with every facility we need ,and i mean ,we are not in Nice to sit in a fancy room?? up in the morning ,eat a good breakfast on the hotel , home late a night and then a nice bed to sleep in , thats all you need :-)
The location are 4-5 min away from the central street ,where you can walk or take the Tram/bus to old part of Nice and beach. So very central location ,but still as quiet as it can be in the city ,not much noise.
So i will recommend this hotel for people who need a good cheap(for Nice) hotel , and like us are not spending time on the hotel :-)

We stated here for two nights and if we ever go back again to Nice. As people know the taxi charges are outrageous in Nice, so hotel location is everything. Star hotel is situated in a convenient location to town centre, the tram, and the train station.
Even if this was far away and not close to anything I would still recommend it. The service is amazing, they are beyond helpful and friendly. Their recommendations for restaurants were superb, their helpfulness for transport was so helpful. And they were honest with what ever quierys you asked.
I accidentally took one of their special made room keys, sent them an email right after I figures out I had it and their response was 'no problem just pop it in the mail' , because of circumstances it took me a few weeks to get it back to them and no problem. They even sent a message to thank me for sending it back.
If there were more hotel staff like these guys, traveling would be a much better experience everywhere!
Thank you star hotel, we will recommend you to everyone we know.

was in Nice to attend a conference at the Palais De Congres Acropolis, stayed at the Star Hotel for 5 days. Centrally located, about 200 metres from the Avenue Jean Medecin, and most attractions are within walking distance, and supplies can be bought at a nearby Carrefour, and Monoprix. As their web site states, there are no elevators, and the hotel has 3 floors. They will give you help in getting your luggage to your room. Phillippe provided a number of maps on arrival and also shows his skills in writing upside down as he shows you the key places on the maps.
The rooms are small but clean. If you're from USA or Australia and not accustomed to European smallness you will have some adjusting to do! We were kindly given a free upgrade from a double to a triple, which entailed a double bed and a single bed. There were 3 fold up chairs in the room which can be easily put away under the beds when not required. They recently installed in room safes but given the space, whenever I left the safe door open I would often bump my head into the open door, so would need to remind myself to immediately lock the safe after use. The television got about 3 english speaking TV stations, however not all the stations specified in the hotel guide were operational; not sure if it was the TV or something else.
The shower and wash basin area is also small, and there is a tendency for water to make its way to the floor after a shower so make use of those towels!
What is not mentioned on their web site but is stated in their booklet in the hotel room, as well as mentioned here already is that they will charge a fee for untidy food smells and stains, including stains on the towels. They also don't want you using the basin to wash your clothes.
There is no fridge in the room but we were allowed to store items that required refrigeration in the staff fridge downstairs. There are no coffee facilities in your room.
The staff leave at midnight and arrive at 7am, but you have access to a code to get into the building out of hours which worked fine.
The cleaning staff were unobtrusive and efficient, getting their work done by 1pm most days.
Staff were very helpful and friendly, and gave good directions. We did not have a car, and took the number 99 bus from the airport to the nice railway station, then walked to the hotel via Avenue Thiers and the Avenue Jean Medecin.
Given the lack of elevators and small rooms, I would not recommend this hotel for the morbidly obese or frail! Otherwise, if you're in reasonable shape, don't have a car, and are looking for value, this is the place.
