“Good deal on a good spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

From arrival until depart the staff is very friendly, speaks English well and helps out where possible.
The room is large (104) with a double and a single bed. bed's are very sturdy. Very spacious bathroom and the toilets must have been renewed as I read that they had sanibroyeurs, they have normal toilets now.
Rooms are being properly cleaned every day.
Breakfast is nice if it's free, but I wouldn't pay the listed €10, just too little choice and availability.
Wifi works also in the room, internet is fast.
I would recommend the hotel for a short stay, it is ideally located near shopping streets and the beach.

We stayed at the Hotel Lafayette Nice for 3 nights the end of August. It is in a great location and is convenient to walk to the Promenade or the old part of town or the tram line. Even the walk to the train station is not too far. Shopping and restaurants are close by as well as the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even helping make reservations for restaurants. The room was adequate and clean. There are 2 computers available for guests to use free of charge in the reception area. This is a nice, budget friendly hotel that I would recommend.

The hotel is in the city centre, close to a tram stop and shops. Also a walking distance to a famous fruit and vegetable marker Cours Saleya and the beach. We were 3 friends sharing a triple room (107) with a fridge and a coffee maker. Just opposite to our room were 2 PC for guestes (for free). The room was comfortable, clean and we appreciated a large bathroom.
The hotel staff are friendly, helpful.

Room Tip: A tripple room (107) which is really large with a window facing the main street and Galleries Lafaye...

Stayed here with two teenage kids. Nice size quad room, which was clean and well kept. Staff all were very friendly. Location was very good, with easy walk to promenade, tram line, old part of town. Nothing too special, but a decent, budget friendly place to stay for a short stay.

Hotel Lafayette is ideally located quite near the tram line and shopping area. It is a 10 min walk from the Promenade des anglais. We had booked a quad room at this hotel. The room size was decent (by Europe standards). The room was quite comfortable with 2 double beds. Our room was quite near the reception desk and we had the opportunity to have lots of interaction with different members of the very friendly staff at Lafayette. The staff gave us a lot of tips on sightseeing. Breakfast (buffet) was good. You need to inform the reception the previous night if you are planning to have breakfast at the hotel. Access to the reception and rooms (on the first floor) is via a flight of stairs. This poses some problems if you have lots of luggage. However, we were aware of this beforehand (from the reviews on Trip Advisor). Overall, I would definitely strongly recommend staying here when you are in Nice.

We stayed in Nice for 5 nights and this hotel was 15 minute walk, downhill from the Nice Ville train station and 5 minutes from the beach and old town. Unlimited eating and shopping opportunities within minutes of the hotel. The hotel is on the first floor and has about 17 rooms. The staff are present 24 hours, multi lingual and very pleasant and helpful. Room was clean, well equipped and a modern bathroom. Walls were a little "thin" but this did not detract from our stay. We happened to be in Nice during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend and the city was buzzing. Trains were crowded to and from Monaco, but SNFC staff were extremely efficient and helpful. We felt the hotel was good value foe money.

Room Tip: Outside rooms do get traffic noise; this did not bother us, but light sleepers should ask for an ins...

Great location -- near the old city, the beach and Place Massena restaurants and shops. Very helpful staff who all speak English. Computer in the lobby for guest use (free). Easy to reach by bus from the airport (99 to the train station and then 4 or 17 to the Guitry stop. Clean, large rooms, but very basic. Located on the first floor (about 15-20 steps), there is no elevator.
