I was staying at the Beau Rivage for 2 nights in June 2009. Prior to that we were staying at the ultra-shabby Meybeer Beach Hotel, which was pretty crap but I guess at €40 a night one should not really expect much. The change to the Beau Rivage was a massive upgrade and in retrospect I wished that I would have stayed there for the entire trip.
The rooms are fairly spacious, with a nice boutique hotel décor, crisp cotton sheets & a very comfy bed. The bathroom is spotless and towels are provided twice a day. The staff was incredibly courteous and helpful; and definitely made the stay more pleasant. The location of the hotel is just perfect. It's a stone's throw away from the old town with beautiful architecture and many great restaurants. I recommend the "Le Grand Balcon" if you love truffles.
We only had breakfast at the Beau Rivage restaurant (which was pretty decent). It's your standard buffée breakfast with fresh breads, charcuterie, cheeses, fruits, scrambled eggs, bacon etc. The staff is mostly courteous and pleasant. We didn't eat dinner at the restaurant so I am not sure what the food is like, but I expect it to be good, if the food at the beach is anything one can judge by.
The Beach belonging to the Beau Rivage is also very nice. The rent of the beach chairs & parasol is a bit overpriced I found. But that is typical Cote d' Azur so no surprises there. The food at the beach is great but again a little expensive.
Overall I felt the Beau Rivage is a great hotel with perfect location, nice beach, nice rooms, great staff. I would definitely go there again if my finances would allow it :)
