“Nice swimming pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Arrived at 10.30 am to be told that there was no possibility of a check-in before 2pm: 'hotel policy'! Otherwise the reception staff were very accomodating, helpful, and efficient. The roof-top pool is lovely.

What a rip off , booked this hotel on line , daily rate £140.00 roughly , special deal 3 nights for the price of 2 , ended up paying £435.00 ,this wasnt what i signed up for felt cheated . Queried it with reception but the explanation was so confusing im still scatching my head . Some of the bill was made up from th charge for the 3 days parking £20.00 a day, all it said on the website was parking available , let customers know the cost before they book . My advice confirm the cost if you can , we didnt , mainly because there was no contact details on the website that we could find , other than the overcharge the hotel was ok and Nice is worth a visit.,

Spent a night here in August. very good reception staff, but let down by the barman in the roof bar who was rather grumpy as clearly hadn't expected 10 people to arrive in his bar 1 hr before closing and did his best to slam shut every fridge he opened! Our rooms were well sized but could have done with a good update. The sink was not particularly clean and there was a used cup next to the kettle. Typical chain hotel issues - the rooms needed some attention but they were OK. Good location for the centre of the city, train station and shopping. Recommend that you take breakfast in a local cafe where it is 1/3rd price and just as good. Also recommend not using the taxi supplied by the hotel. we were charged 98Euros for 2 taxis from the port to the hotel- which is less than 2 miles and took less than 10 minutes!

When in Nice there is not much time spent in your hotel, therefore i would say this hotel is more than adequate when staying in Nice. The rooms are a decent size and clean, there are no drinks in the mini bar, but this worked to our advantage as we used it to store our bottled water and red bulls. The hotel has a pool on the roof which is great for sun tanning, there is also a bar there.

Breakfast was ok but definetly not worth the 18 euro per person.
Also don't expect much help from the hotel staff, they are pleasant but do not go out of their way to help you.

Location is ok, it took us 5 minutes to walk to the train station from the hotel, which is great if you plan to explore other areas of the coast, there is also a bus (number 99) which leaves from the train station and goes directly to the airport every half hour. The beach is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel, but the shops (fashion boutiques and supermarket) are all right out the front of the hotel.

After reading the previous reviews i feel like we have stayed in different hotels ! We experienced no problems at this hotel. All the staff were so polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Breakfast was plentiful. When we arrived we went up to the bar on the 8th floor for a drink and witnessed the exchange between the lady who found a fly in her drink (previous comment) . The staff were professional and polite and explained their problem with giving a refund and tried to calm her down. If she had been given the wrong drink then yes this outburst could have been justified but it was just a fly ! it was 30 degrees and an open roof top bar so the odd fly is to be expected !
This was the first time that we have visited the south of France and we loved it and will definitely stay at this hotel again and we would recommend it to friends and family.
We booked all our restaurants before our visit on line and we would recommend http://www.larossettisserie.com/en/d and http://www.levingt4.fr/ both were wonderful restaurants.
Also the train station is only a five minute walk away and the beach 5-10 minutes.

It is a modern and fresh hotel located in the centre of town, with a number of shopping malls and stores really close by. The hotel is located on about 15 minutes walking distance to the beach and old town, and about 10 minutes to Massena, where a lot of restaurants are located. There is a lot to look at walking down the shopping street, so we didn't mind.

We had a room with a terrace on the 7th floor, and we were really happy with everything in the room. The beds were a bit hard, as they generally seem to be in the Mediterranean area, but we slept well anyhow.

The staff was really friendly and helpful, and the pool area is a great alternative if you want to catch some sun without walking down to the beach. Breakfast was great, with eggs, pancakes, fruits, muesli among other things. We didn't try the restaurant, but I would expect it to be good.

The price was reasonable compared to the hotels located down by the beach, but nothing is cheap in Nice, so don't expect a bargain.
