“Pretty average hotel not bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

We stayed here for one night prior to a flight. The hotel is clean and facilities good but a little scuffed and tired in places. Like many French hotels I would say standard of 4 star is lower. Staff on reception were helpful. Breakfast was good with variety of cold buffet, pastries and hot items. Beds were comfortable and there was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We thought it a bit overpriced but generally acceptable. Location for airport is great and there's a free shuttle bus. There's also a shuttle to St Laurent de Var marina and shops which might be useful if staying longer as nothing else really in the immediate environment.

I personally like newer hotels, they always look cleaner to me than old hotels with grimey grout and decomposing baseboards. For this reason I chose this hotel that is not exactly close to Nice's beaches and city center but at the same time it is just a short car-ride away. There is not much to see or do within walking distance from the hotel but if you have a car you're just 10-15 minutes away from all you want to see and do in Nice. The hotel has a small indoors parking garage for 15 euros/night. Parking downtown is very easy, there are dozens of public parking garages and the rates are very low compared to European capitals. You can park the car downtown and explore the city by foot.

The room was large, spacious, with an ample window with views to the airport and the Mediterranean in the distance. I asked for a room on a high floor and it was absolutely quiet, we never heard any kind of noise. Service was OK. Lowest temperature of room A/C was what felt like 75-77F (same as in most hotels I've stayed in Europe). Room windows don't open.

Breakfast had eggs, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, bacon, cereal, and a couple of options of cheeses, breads, cold meats and jams. I will definitely stay there again!

The hotel is near the airport and a very convenient location. The room was spacious, clean and worth and we really appreciated the complimentary shuttle bus that drove us around to the port, shopping centre and airport terminal (really good touch). Swimming pool was closed but sauna and gym room opened all day. Overall a good choice but beware ... the staff are slow slow slow checking people in and dealing with issues!! Very frustrating!!

Booked this hotel for four nights using lastminute secret section. We knew it was at the airport. On arriving at Terminal 2 the information desk has a free phone for you to contact the hotel for your free pick-up shuttle bus. This bus also takes guests free of charge to the local train station, Cap 3000 shopping mall and the beautiful marina area which has two sections filled with restaurants for all choices. the hotel staff are wonderfull and all speak perfect English and were very caring. Noise was not a problem. If you want a drink at the hotel it was 4 euros for a can of coke from the machines 6.5 euros for a draft beer in the bar. Parking may be a problem if you have a large car as the hotel garage is very challenging. Parking on the street around the hotel was very busy. For the rate we paid this hotel proved to be excellent value and choice.

Room Tip: High floor overlooking airport.

This hotel is right by the airport which is 7 kilometres from the centre of Nice. It has an expensive restaurant or will shuttle you to a local marina where it's like Blackpool. If you want to go into Nice or travel about all you need to do is walk along the street to a bus stop where the free shuttle to the airport stops every 10 minutes. Go to either terminal and take the 98, which will cost you 4 euros but gives you a ticket you can use on any public transport in Nice, including trams, for 24 hours.
The 98 stops at around 9pm, but if you get to bus stop JC Bermond, in the centre of the city, a nightbus called N4 will take you back to the airport all through the night - only one an hour so best to download the schedule from Lignes d'Azur's website.
So now this hotel, which is 4star and really handy, is a boon as the area is quiet at night, rates via lastminute.com are reasonable and the service is excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for the higher floors - they are quieter but really, the whole thing is pretty well insulated.

The staff at reception was courteous and that's the only good thing apart from the good quality sleep i got there.

Its a decent place if you are looking for a stay at walking distance to the airport. But in the city of Nice, it only takes few minutes to get to airport anyway.

After staying there for a week, I would say it doesn't match the other club Carlson properties i have experienced before.

A bit disappointed with this one.

Stayed in this hotel for business, rooms are a bit outdated. Airco works properly but if you want fresh air the windows cannot be opened. Besides it would be too noisy due to the airport close by. If your in a room at the railway track side your in even worse luck, these trains are very audible. Bathroom in general is small, and the door will block your passage way to the toilet. Breakfast has improved, but is typically french... Bar in summertime can be good fun especially if your at the poolside bar, the food is not so good unfortunately.
At 5 minute walking distance is a good opportunity to go down to Nice-City center, for 4 euro's you'll have a daypass for the city bus which leaves from terminal 1, reception knows the directions. Bus stops at the roundabout in front of the hotel for the return trip.

All in all, if your only here for a short night because you have an early flight it's an okay sleep but otherwise i'd choose something more conveniently located within the center of Nice.

Room Tip: Get the airport side rooms, sounds strange but they are more quiet
