“Beautiful church”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

The outside of the church is beautiful, entry to this working church is free. It is within walking distance from the center of town. Access to the interior depends on if services are in progress so if you want to see the inside check the internet to see if services are scheduled. The insides are not particuarly impressive.

“Beautiful Church!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

We made a special trip to this church while visiting Nice. It was absolutely beautiful, and would recommend if you are looking for something a little different. Just a note that if you want to visit inside, check out the website for hours and to make sure it's not closed due to a religious ceremony.

“Worth a visit if you're in Nice.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Typically crazy (to my Anglican eyes) Russian Orthodox architecture. I love it.
Don't expect St. Paul's or Notre Dame - it's vast and imposing, but nothing like those two.
Time your visit to avoid services - it's a working place of worship, which is a good thing.
If you're interested in culture, rather than just roasting on the beach, it's well worth including in your exploration of Nice's rich history as a destination for many different races & religions.
What's interesting here, is that the "Cathedral" (think the Orthodox call them "Basilica" or something like that?) was actually built by "White Russians" before the revolution - but now, of course, it's the "nouveau riche" Russians who are patronising the Cote d'Azur.
I don't know why other reviews say the place is hard to find - it's well signposted, and about ten minutes walk from the beach.

“Was not really worth the long trek”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Rather disappointed with this visit. It as a long walk from central Nice and very dark when you get inside. We were not disrespectful in any way but a female attendant was rather officious.

“simply breath taking!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

it was quite hard to find it, but BOY, when you see it, it will leave you breathless...
The day when i visited it, it was nice and sunny, and when the sun reflects of gold ornaments, it shines like the Lord himself came down to Earth...
