I went to the museum during the 'summer of Matisse', so had to pay 10 euros instead of the usual nothing - the Matisse thing was the main attraction for me. Nice layout, but not that much of interest to me - though admittedly, I do find a lot of modern art somewhat 'Emperor's New Clothes' - I thought maybe there would be more in it if I saw it physically in situ ....... but there's not. However, that's my opinion of the genre, not the museum, which is well laid out, cool enough with a gorgeous roof gallery (gorgeous mainly for the views!). Gift shop, such as it is, not up to much and at 10 euros, overpriced, though in fairness that would have gained entry to other Matisse exhibitions in Nice (these aren't, by the way, necessarily exhibitions of Matisse's works - more a tribute to, rather disappointingly).
