“Great for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We had booked a suite for our family of 4 in May and it was a great 3 day stay at the hotel.

It is more like an apartment than a hotel, offering great value.

smooth check in with friendly staff,Modern clean rooms, very comfortable with all amenities such as Microwave,Kitchennete ,etc.

Albeit a little small for a suite, nevertheless ok by Nice/Paris standards with a dining and sitting area.

Small pool at the rooftop but hardly used.

Location was great near Acropolis and Nice Riquier station.

As stated in other reviews the staff working at reception were very polite and tried their very best to be helpful. However, the holiday didn't start well when, at check in, it was apparent that our chosen room type was not available for the full 7 days of our stay. We had paid for an executive suite and during booking (some months in advance) we had requested the highest possible floor (of six). But after 20 minutes searching the system the receptionist offered what we strongly suspect was a standard suite on the third floor, overlooking the internal courtyard. One quick look made us realise that it was going to be far too tight for two adults and two teenagers - so we returned directly to reception to ask for an alternative. As said, the reception staff were very polite and it was obvious that they were trying their level best to help (even if it was annoying that our room appeared not to have been set aside). Eventually they identified two adjacent executive studios on the fourth floor, facing out onto the street. The two rooms were separated by two doors which, when unlocked, gave us more or less twice the space and two bathrooms - much better all round. We were not charged extra. We preferred facing the street too - the view was far from pretty (residential flats opposite) but it did enable us to do some 'people watching' from the balcony to the street below - and with the door shut there was hardly any noise, at least on the fourth floor. The beds in the studios were sofa beds - as said in other reviews they are a compromise: a bit bumpy in places but for us not unbearable. Combined with excellent curtains (blackout quality) we slept just fine.
The hallway decor and room carpets were starting to look a little tired in places - but not yet quite to the stage where they were properly off-putting.
The surrounding area seemed quite safe (that said, we heard one guest reporting theft of her purse whilst she was travelling on the tram - beware). It was not exactly picturesque but the closeness of the Carrefour, opposite, was very handy indeed. If you're up to walking, as we are, the trip into town was not too bad - about a mile to the old town and two to the far end of the town centre. That said you can walk around 400 metres to the nearest tram stop (Acropolis) and catch the tram to either - 1.5 Euros per person per journey (of whatever length) - or 5 Euros (unlimited) per day / 15 Euros per week. The nearest train station - Nice Riquier - is about half a mile away and great for catching the train to Cannes (around 40 minutes) or Monaco (18 minutes).
As said in other reviews, wi-fi is only available in reception - this was no great problem for us (the kids just went downstairs when they needed to) - but I can imagine for some that this could be frustrating. The pool and surrounding decking were quite small but not too busy until late afternoon. That said, both were very welcome and made a positive difference to our stay, rounding our 3.5 star rating upwards to 4 rather than down to 3. The fitness room is pretty small with cardio machines only - 2 running machines / two exercise bikes and one cross trainer - but did its job and was never busy.
There is a single washing machine and dryer (4.5 and 3.5 Euros respectively) - they were in a fair bit of demand but to be honest we didn't have to wait too long to 'get a slot'. The room cleaning strategy is quite bizarre - every two days if you stay for 6 days or less but only once per week if you stay for 7 days (as we did)! Still can't work out why if you invest more you get less!?
Overall a decent if unspectacular hotel which is fine if you get a good rate and well worth a second look if you value access to the (small) pool area. Would we stay again - probably but I would re-look at alternatives too.

Room Tip: Go for a room on a higher floor, facing out onto the street. If you're travelling with older ch...

We spent 3 nights here during peak season. We were greated by friendly staff who kindly helped us plan some of itinerary suggesting restuarants, places to vist, best ways to get around Nice etc. We valued the time they gave us and their local knowledge.

It's an 'apart hotel' so we had cooking facilities, fridge, dishwasher & microwave. We ate out mostly but was lovely to be able to chill drinks etc. We were visited by the cleaning service 1 which was fine - you can have clean towels at any time however for a charge of €1

My only issue is we had a sofa bed made up as a bed. Given the price charged this should have been a proper bed.

The hotel is immaculately clean. We didn't use most if their facilities such as roof top pool, resturant so unable to comment.

We would recommend this accommodation, it is easily accessible via bus from the airport, a short walk from the tram & train line. Ideal base for a city break.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. Given everything in this city charges a premium during summer time, our stay is considered tolerable but far from perfect.

Despite paying over 200euro per night for a tiny studio, we arrived only to find ourselves in front of a mediocre motel-looking building. Quite a let down to start with. Interior was modern though, despite stains all over the carpet and fingerprints on the mirror. We requested for a room change but apparently these were not isolated problems so changing to another room didn't help much.

Day2, we returned to the hotel noticing that no room cleaning had been done. Called the frontdesk and were told that it's "not a hotel" so cleaning wasn't provided every day and that we had to pay for extra amenities even shampoo and shower gel. Alright....

One last point to note, wifi is only available in the lobby, but not inside rooms.

The hotel is a distance from the beach and the Vieux Nice restaurants and shops, but the distance is walkable or can be reached via the tram located a few blocks away. And for day trips, the train station also is a few blocks away. This was a plus, since this was not a hotel in which I wanted to linger. The rooms are very basic, with spare furnishings. Our room included a small bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room area with a sofa bed and a kitchenette on one side. The bedroom pillows were tiny and flat. Extras were provided only if you forked out more euros per day. Extra towels likewise were available only for a fee. Internet was available only in the downstairs lobby area, and each room account would permit only two users online at one time - problematic when traveling with a family of four. Rooms were cleaned every other day, so our bath towels were hanging out to dry on every available space throughout the room. Our bathroom had no bathtub or shower stall, only a curtained corner of the bathroom with a drain and shower nozzle. The rooftop pool was tiny, and absolutely no seating was available. The front desk staff were eye candy but otherwise unhelpful. The one nice feature was the buffet breakfast, which included breads, cheese, cereals, juice, and a terrific individual brew coffee machine featuring steamed milk for cappuccinos and lattes. And unlike the front desk staff, the breakfast room staff were friendly and efficient.

We stayed for a 12 days holiday in Nice. The location is great for exploring Nice and the surrounding towns. There is a 5 minute walk to the tram or a 5 minute walk to the train station Nice Riquier and small shopping center just across the street.

The room is was OK, but we found that a lot of expected features were missing. The room had very limited capacity to store clothes, so we were living out of our suitcases for the whole stay. The bathroom had no shelves, cabinets or similar so our toiletries had to be on the floor. The kitchen was missing some basic tools such as a cutting board and cutting knives.

The rooftop swimming pool area is also very basic. No sun-chairs/-beds, no service just a small swimming pool. The roof is not place to stay, so we only used it for cooling down the kids.
