“Great food, terrific education”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

This small restaurant in the Old Town of Nice specializes in all manner of olive oil in the preparation of outstanding meals. The owners/managers are a delightful couple. He, in fact, is like a professor of olive oil - his enthusiasm for olive oil is honest and appealing and his knowledge of the industry/art is exceptional. The meals are wonderful, special delicacies - and some standard dishes - created to work well with any of a few dozen types of olive oil. Get a table outside, watch endless shoppers parade buy and relax in one of the unique areas of the French Riviera.

Many have called Oliviera "olive oil 101".
I first thought that it was a software version; until I learned that it is a class # !!!
Bugs!

“A joy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

Girlfriend and I had dinner here two nights ago - it was a treat. Delicious dipping olive oil (bought it when we left) and unbelievable appetizers - tomato mozzarella and basil and the goat cheese with roasted red peppers. Of course, Nadim added to these dishes with his olive oil. Entrees were good as well - ravioli and the pesto pasta, though I'll admit the entrees are not overly large, however the right size in combination with the appetizers. A very enjoyable experience with a great, gracious, knowledgable host, great wine, and great food.

“Food served with passion!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

It's so rare to find a restaurant where you feel that it is being run for the pleasure of providing high quality and delicious food, rather than churn through customers to maximise the bottom line. The Proprietor has a deep passion for Olive Oil (selling a variety of oils is the other side of the business) and will spend time with each customer explaining how the oil complements the food. Don't go to Oliviera because you want a quick bite- go there to get simple but beautifully prepared food and to learn about the virtues and differences of olive oils of the region.

Olive oil without passion is a supermarket olive oil.

“Outstanding Food & Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

My bf booked this restaurant for my 30th birthday (which you need to do in advance). I have to say this was the best meal of the holiday, the food was amazing, I have wanted to try rabbit for ages and they had this on the menu - delicious! The restaurant specialises in olive oils and each dish is accompanied with a different oil. Nadim was a wonderful gentleman, very informative and passionate about the oils and foods they go with. I was very curious about the oil that went with the Tiramisu (I am not a fan of this dessert as I hate coffee). I first tried it without the oil, which I did not like, but as soon as the oil went on - very tasty, you must have it if you go here even if you do not like coffee!

Thank you so much for a wondeful food experience!!

The restaurant does the one sitting at 7.30pm, we were here a good 2.5 hours, if you like to rush do not come here, but if you like to sit back, relax and enjoy your food it is a must!

the dessert oil is the product of the fermentation of very ripe olives in controled conditions.
I get a very small quantity each year, with a promise to get more the next. Not yet here!
we'll see in November...

“Special expericence. A must in Nice.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

I must say that I discoverd this restaurant on Tripadviser and booked a table for lunch with no problems, by email, just a day before.
Once you are there, you have to stay calm and relax for an hour and a half. If you are in hurry, better go to Subway, just around the corner.
Here you are gonna to stay at your table, in/outside of restaurant, listen beautiful stories about olives oil, taste some kind of oils and eat homemade food, tasted with different tipes of olive oil.
Colclusion: it's a STORY, it is TASTY and a MUST, if you are ever in the old town of Nice.
