This is a budget airport hotel par excellence. We would not have stayed here were it not for the price hikes all the other Nice hotels were 'suffering' because of the Monaco Grand Prix. In fact we were going to the race, but were not prepared to pay over the odds for our accommodation.
The hotel is one train stop or a short bus ride away from central Nice and, by definition, close to the airport. It has all the facilities you might need for a short stay when you are not planning to spend much discretionary time at the hotel. It is modern, clean and well managed. The staff are efficient if lacking in the nth degree of charm. There is a small, unheated outdoor pool that appears to get no sun, being located 'out back' and surrounded by neighbouring high-rises. Breakfast is comprehensive and constantly replenished and there is a rudimentary bar attached to reception. The bedrooms are equipped with broadband and widescreen TV and are clean and pleasant. Beds are great.
Great news too if you intend to travel to Monaco: The eastbound train from Cannes stops at the St Augustin station nearby and takes you all the way there without a change of train in Nice - 20 minutes or thereabouts.
