“imprinted on rose- tinted memory as a glimpse of heaven...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013 for a stay in November 2012

Others have summed up so much alredy. My wife said she`d love to return again and again! Stylish with quality, in a an eclectic way, made it endlessly fascinating tand delightful to my wife;.It was well-equipped, had beautiful views and a lovely communal `garden` of mature specimen shrubs and trees . Wonderfully peaceful, yet so close to town facilities and the sea.
Our daughter and friend (20), found the attractions of Nice more magnetic - easy by bus, train or car. Daily covered market for food and Friday flea-market are worth visiting. As is the huge nearby Italian market in Ventimiglia (friday again)
Steepish but short climb from the town which my wife managed.with her walking stick.
5 of us, in the second week, proved a little congested but ok.! Just 2 of us for the first week was great - very spacious and relaxing with so much to visit nearby in Menton and beyond, if wished. Could well suit 2 couples.
Caroline and her husband were both friendly as well as helpful.

“gorgeous home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We felt very relaxed and happy here with the beautiful views and the very lovely interior. The heating was excellent.
It was just a short walk to all the goings on of the Lemon Festival, but we could relax in peace.
It is a stiff walk back up to the Winter Palace from the town so I would not recommend it to someone who was not averagely fit.
Caroline was very charming and helpful.

“A fantastic apartment with all you can dream of”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

The Winter Palace is situated on a hill, surrounded by palm trees, flowers etc. It's a dream come through. From all rooms of the apartment there is a fantastic view over the city to the Mediterranian. The apartment is decorated a bit like the 'art nouveau' style - it's really charming and you feel you are in a private home, not in a rented flat. There is everything you need. It is indeed 'all inclusive'. You are at the beach within 10 - 15 min's walk, you have shopping, cafés and restaurants within close walking distance. Menton is a charming town. We can recommend a visit to the Jean Cocteau museum and a walk in the old town. It's easy to go to Nice where the Chagall museum is a 'must' - just like the chapel in Vence. We will certainly come back!

“A fabulous and elegant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012 for a stay in December 2011

I spent 5 days mid-December at this wonderful place in Menton and I just dream about getting back. The apartment is located in one the most stunning Victorian buildings of the cote d'Azur. The previously hotel is greatly preserved and overlooks the Mediterranean. And the owner, Caroline, recently renovated the apartment with great taste, just as is she was going to live there. Her attention to many details made my days there. Nothing is cheap nor ostentatious, it is sophisticated but not pretentious and everything is in perfect state. It's definitely not the usual rental place. It is 5 stars.
About the service: Caroline (and her cute dogs) welcomed me on time and provided the information I needed about the place, Menton, the restaurants, the local market a few steps away...
Location: If you like the Cote d'Azur but don't know Menton, it is a perfect place to try!
Driving to Monaco is just about 15-20 minutes. Italy less than that.

“Grand style in a fabulous spot”

Our family of 5 had a delightful week in this magnificent Belle Epoque building. Stylishly decorated with each room having a wonderful view of the Med. Excellent facilities done to a very high standard.
We were warmly welcomed with a bottle of Rose in the fridge from a very affable owner who made every attempt to make our stay enjoyable.
Close to train station allowing easy access to the many beautiful locations along the coast. Also 10mins from Old Town and sandy beach.
Although a steep walk back, its well worth the effort.
Menton has plenty of restaurants and patisseries to cater for all tastes.
well recommended, would definitely return.
