“Nice, quiet, affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Nice hotel with a small pool area, very friendly & easygoing staff and a quiet yet central location. 2 blocks from the beach, the hotel has its own small pool and garden, which our room looked out on.
Although a little small for two people with a lot of luggage, the room has everything you need – it's very clean, the beds are okay, there's a big fridge (not just a minibar you need to empty before squeezing in your own drinks), free Wi-Fi, central A/C and a bathroom with a big shower. For the price we paid, there is absolutely nothing to complain about.
Buffet breakfast and fresh coffee are available in the tiny but charming lobby.
Cozy and charming overall, the hotel certainly helped make our vacation relaxing!

We stayed at the Hotel Saint Charles for three nights in late August 2012. We found out on arrival that we'd been upgraded to a pool-facing room - it was delightful. The room was well appointed with a cute ensuite bathroom, and a semi-private terrace area with table and chairs leading out to the petite and very pretty pool area. The pool is unheated but was great for a post late night wake up one morning! It's not big enough to swim in but is lovely for a dip if you've been sunbathing on the patio. There's nearby pay parking on the street but even better a free (for 24 hours) parking lot around the corner (same road as the train station but left instead of right). The staff were friendly and chatty and helped us with a couple of recommendations, we particularly enjoyed a trip to the Lerin Islands when the weather was a little dull one day. A great spot by the riviera.

Room Tip: Try to book poolside if you can.

When planning my trip along southern coast of France I was looking for a hotel in Juan-les-Pins that would have a good location at a budget price. Hotel Saint Charles met my needs perfectly. As I was going to combine beach and sightseeing, I found its location very convenient: very close to the railway station, to the beaches and to the promenade.
My room was rather spacious and comfortable. The furniture was very simple but there was enough place to store all my stuff (I generally travel with a large suitcase). Everything was very clean. There was a fridge and centralized air-conditioning. The bed was very comfortable, the windows faced the pool so it was very quiet and relaxing. Wi-fi access was free.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, gave me lots of advice about beaches and places to see.
I wish I had a room on the ground floor, it would be so nice to be able to spend evenings outdoors beside the pool. But hopefully next time!
I only had breakfast at the hotel twice because in Juan-les-Pins there are numerous options to sip your morning coffee watching the sea. But sitting outside Saint Charles on a sunny morning is also nice, and they serve really good confitures!
To sum up, it is a very good place to stay if you are not looking for exquisite furnishing and are planning to use railway a lot.

Excellent small hotel - only 12 rooms and a nice little pool in the private courtyard. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to everything. Excellent base for the area, and a great place to stay if you are flying out of Nice - close and easy to get to. Highly recommended, especially for those (like me) who are not fond of crowded high rises! Opt for the Garden courtyard rooms as you have immediate access to the pool and very useful table and chairs outside your room.

Room Tip: If you can, go for the garden courtyard room - great!

Good location in Juan Les Pins, only 2mins from Juan Les Pins station and 5mins walk to the beach.

Clean, basic accommodation on the French Riviera at a more reasonable price compared to other towns nearby!

Owner plus the staff were friendly and helpful which always helps make your stay easier. Breakfast served at the hotel, plenty of restaurants nearby for dinner in the evenings.

Room Tip: Book a garden view room for better sleep quality.

If you are looking for a hotel, not really inspiring but okay equipped and if small rooms are okay for you (two separate beds) but want to be located centrally and cheap, this could be a hotel for you.
Nice people working but renovated 10 years ago or so (as pictures taken)

This was the first hotel we had ever stayed at in Europe and it was the perfect portal into the unknown. It was small, neat and interesting. The staff... well particularly the woman who was there the majority of our stay and might have been one of the owners I don't recall... was extremely helpful and friendly to us. This, coupled with the leisurely breakfast outside every morning, got our day moving in the right direction each time. Now I'm giving this hotel 5 based mostly on value... it is not/NOT upscale (don't want to mislead anyone) but it was perfect for us. We spent the majority of our time adventuring this and nearby towns but could always count on a warm welcome back home! Oh and they let us log into their WiFi for free which was an added plus!
