“Good job overall.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Having a lot of Marriott points to 'spend' and wanting to have a bit of time on the riviera, we opted for the AC Ambassadeurs because it was the best of the bunch in the area. The JW in Cannes looked ghastly and I'd stayed many times at the Marrioot in Monaco on business. After being initially disappointed (room small and a bit cheaply finished) things improved with very good and helpful staff, nice pool area etc. The parking was horrendous - hot, narrow, barrier not working etc. so opted for valet parking on the second day. The hotel was well located for restaurants, bars and close to the water. Overall we were happy with the stay. It's not luxury but then again you get what you pay for!

We stayed there 2 nights on my business trip in cot d azur. Nice location provides a walking distance to the beach, juan les pins or antibes. Nice rooms, sad staff (overworked?). Breakfast was quite expensive imho.

Dont be fooled into thinking this is a Marriott standard hotel - it isn't. Its been renovated very cheaply and it shows. The rooms have a 'plastic' floor, the bathrooms poorly finished everything felt cheap and nasty. Dark, dingy corridors to rooms - the views are a joke - garden view = dry bit of grass with concrete buildings all around. The access to the pool is via a dangerous badly maintained steel staircase. The whole pool area is closed in on all sides by a concrete jungle. We were due to stay for 5 nights but checked out after one. Staff rude and unhelpful manager made no effort to try and resolve any of our concerns. Car park is a joke - so tight and difficult to get inand out of - damaged our car. The car park is not marriott owned - stank of urine - absolutely dreadful. Walking distance to shops restaurant and beaches is the only positive I can offer. Will never make the mistake of booking an AC hotel again - if you want marriott stick to the main marriott brand. really really disappointed.

Room Tip: Dont be fooled into thinking there are 'views' its all surrounded by concrete!!

Dear ”baileygang”,

Thank you for sharing your experience at the AC Hotel Ambassadeur.

We are sorry to read that your stay didn’t meet your expectations.

We truly regret that you don’t appreciate the renovation of the hotel. We did our best to offer to our guests a very contemporary hotel with modern furniture, quality facilities and at the same time respect all the AC standards. Indeed, we follow the AC Hotels specific guidelines and we are in the limited service category brand compare to most prestigious brands within the Marriott Group.

Just to clarify, we propose to our guests 2 kinds of view: pool view or city view. So, we don’t sell “garden view” rooms.

We sincerely hope that you’ll maintain your trust in the AC Hotels.

Regards,

We spent 6 nights in this hotel in August 2013. Overall experience was very good. Although it seems to be an old hotel, the completely renovated it and brought a modern light to it. Room was very clean, service was good and the AC was working with no failure, even when the card was not let into he designated fan for enabling the electricity running. That ensured a good temperature when returning from the beach. During the night and also the day there was the expected silence for resting and sleep. The Congress Palace in front of the hotel was almost ready in terms of exterior constructions so no noise ... The beach was excellent (5 minutes walking from the hotel), private beds and umbrellas ( aprox 23 eur/person/day) and the restaurant facility at the beach was excellent. The beach has sand not rocks :). Wifi exists in the lobby and bar, free of charge- payable only if you need a faster speed. Mind the parking, aprox 20 eur/day: the underground parking is very narrow and low ceiling, so SUVs cannot go in, but normal type limo and below have no problems. Hotel also has an outside swimming pool, free access for guests? Breakfast was ok, but still I would have expected more vegetables, they had only tomatoes and some cucumber, no salads, no pepperoni, no olives... Like other 4 stars hotels. I will keep this hotel on my list for future visits on Côte d'Azur . Recommended location!

Room Tip: If you go by or rent SUVs, check in advance with the hotel they can facilitate the parking in front...

I stayed here four days and overall my experience was good. My rate did not include Breakfast, which was €25 per day which is rather steep.

Other point of note, on arrival in the early evening, I was given my room key but that was all. Usually you are told about where things are, where to go for breakfast, where the pool is, concierge - or even the lifts to the rooms. The lady on reception told me none of these and seemed not interested in doing so.

Otherwise, good breakfast selection, nice pool and 5 minute walk into town. Would recommend just for that alone.

This hotel is completely renovated. The rooms are clean, bright and the beds were comfortable. All the rooms have a large balcony, sit back and enjoy the views. The staff was very accommodating, courteous, and cheery. Valet service is prompt and courteous. The bar area is a nice place to sit and have a drink, the entire atmosphere of this hotel was calming as the staff had everything under control. The breakfast is delicious, serving everything you can imagine and very generous quantities. It is a 5 minute walk to Juan les pins center, 15 minutes to Antibes and a 10 minute drive to Cannes. Can't wait to go back next year!

Room Tip: Chose a room overlooking the pool, the grounds are very pretty.

We splashed out on this place for the last night of our tour of the towns along the Cote d'Azur as we need a bit of luxury to prepare us for our flight home. The room was immaculate and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel is very modern and clean with a lovely pool and lots of social spaces including a nice piano bar. Well situated for a short stroll into either Juan les Pins (5 mins) or Antibes (15 mins).
