“Good & not so good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

Stayed for 2 nights in June. Arrived at hotel early & room not ready which was understandable. Left our luggage at reception & headed out for the day. On our return we discovered that one of our bags had not been delivered to our room. After phone calls to reception & a lot of searching the bag finally turned up with items missing (food & drinks from our previous apartment) .We were offered a drink as compensation but requested breakfast instead. Sadly only 1 morning was facilitated. The hotel need to review their handling of luggage

Now the positives - the two young guys on the concierge desk were the most friendly & helpful I have ever encountered on my travels a real asset to the hotel. The reception staff were also friendly. The room was spacious & clean with beautiful furniture.

Pool area was small but we knew that before arriving. The private beach at the sister hotel was further than I expected but then again I was travelling with my 80 year old mother. Location for the town was excellent.

I had considered taking the family back in August but on the morning of departure I went to the dining room & asked for a little milk to enable my mother take her medication. On checking out I was charged 4 euros for this which I felt was ridiculous . This unnecessary charge has resulted in me choosing another hotel in the vicinity for my August vacation.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your comments on Tripadvisor regarding your recent 2 nights stay with us. I am sorry to learn that you were disappointed by your experience. I would like to reassure you on the fact that our mission is to treat all our guests the best way and that we do make any difference between concierge delivery or room service. I am therefore very concerned about your comments you have made for a glass of milk to your mother.
Any member of the staff does not have the tribute to choose if a command has to be charged or not. That is one their main recommendations, and a mistake can be misunderstood.

I was pleased to read that you enjoyed your room, the quality of our reception staff, and our general location.
Should you decide to be right on the sea side with your mother, in any case do not hesitate to contact us to plan a future trip and we will do our utmost to reserve the impressions you had during your recent visit.

Kind regards

The Management

It is with some sadness that I report on our recent stay at Hotel Juana. We had been before some years ago and remembering that visit our expectations were high. With the exception of the downstairs staff we were disappointed. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful but too few - unlike sister hotel Belles Rives which is as overpopulated with staff as it is overpriced. Regrettably the Juana has lost the edge it had before - it has lost its superb private beach (replaced by the circus of the Belles Rives beach), its cleanliness and its way. Rooms (nicely refurbished & adequate but hardly 5 star) and pool were sporadically cleaned to a standard well below 5 star which I fear Juana has fallen below. It has become Cindarella to Belles Rives Ugly Sisters. The prices appeared to be designed to send guests elsewhere - €27 for a very average breakfast available within 200 yards for €8-10. It is such a shame (and very short-sighted) that a superb hotel has been allowed to fall into desuetude by a management which seems to expend all its resources on Belles Rives. I hope that the Juana might yet recover its former glories - time alone will tell.

Dear Client,
We are glad to read that our staff met your expectations during your stay. Please be aware that the Juana Hotel has all the resources necessaire. And yes indeed there is during summer time more staff at the Belles Rives Hotel, but they have the private beach and the gastronomic restaurant. Two services points that we do not have at the Juana.
Our housekeeping team takes really good care to keep the rooms and public areas clean and each year renovation works are done to keep the 5 star standard (our art-deco furniture, maple floors, painting, carpets, decoration and many more).
We also approved our breakfast buffet this year, with many new products prepared each morning by our pastry chef. So you will have a large choice of different fresh products each day. Our Team also offers you an “à la carte” breakfast, in case you do not want to take the buffet at 27 Euros.
We hope to welcome you again in the future to show you that the Juana is still as glories as many years before.

Sincrely Yours,

The Management

Overall the hotel delivered an experience very different to the website the photos are enhanced so don't be fooled. No customer service. We booked 3 rooms from Australia and really relied on the photos what we prepaid per night was 700-1000 euros per room for 7 nights due to Cannes film festival so it was there opportunity to overcharge their customers. We were told if they could resell the rooms we will get a refund but as this hotel wasn't of 5 star standard only one room out of three and one night 695 euro will be refunded which I was told was more than enough compensation! It was a birthday holiday not an industry trip. We left the hotel after one night and were not offered to move rooms into the ones advertised. We cannot photograph every room Madame was what we were told.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your time sharing your comments regarding your stay at the hotel Juana.
Please be assured that the photos on our website are corresponding to each room category, so you will have an good example of the room type you booked. But it already happened that clients have the picture of our suite deluxe in mind, but the moment of reservation they booked only the deluxe room. In this case of course the photo will not reflect the reality.

At the Hotel Juana, our politic expects that no bad surprise could happen, as all rates are shown in all web or commercial supports, and collateral.
Concerning the rates, lots of different tariffs and packages are suggested, following the season or time of booking ; there are high during the Film Festival at Cannes (international highlight), but this is the case for all hotels in the area and it is our clients choice to book during those dates or to change their travel dates. In our hotel you can choose different kind of rates the moment of reservation, but if you book the advanced purchase rate, you have special conditions clearly indicated (no modifications, no refund). Many people know that during this time the hotels are fully booked in advance and this is why it is not easy to sell rooms last minute.

Looking forward to welcoming you again for your next trip on the French Riviera, and to have time to meet you, if you have any suggestion to be provided during your stay in order to target problems, and to improve at time, please remember all our team and management stay at their disposal and that our customers are most important for us

Sincerely Yours,

The Management

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in late April. We strayed in an ocean view suite which was spacious and had a wonderful bathroom. The room rate was very competitive and we would definitely return here in the future.d The staff is terrific and aims to please. The food is also good, but there are a lot of other food options on and off the beach area and in Antibes. We spent most of our time around the beach which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is located near shops and, generally, is in a great location. we would recommend this hotel for a fun stay in Juan Les Pins. the hotel also has a sister property five minutes away which has beach facilities and a nice bar.

Room Tip: We stayed in an ocean view suite which was really perfect-spacious with a great bathroom

15 minutes just south of Cannes you will find the little town of Juan Les Pins, with numerous restaurants (mostly Italian) and even a casino. Nestled near the park of this charming little town is Hotel Juana, part of the Small Leading Hotel group and deservedly so. The staff are very welcoming and there is even an old fashioned elevator. The rooms are not quite luxurious but they do accommodate a 2-3 night stay nicely. We were there for 8 nights for the Cannes Film Festival and, even then, this hotel met all our needs. Comparatively speaking, we have stayed at the Garden Beach Hotel across the park near the ocean and the Hotel Juana was definitely a notch above, but not as beautiful as the Belles Rives (it's sister hotel which you can use the beach of), but also much pricier.

Room Tip: Get a room that faces the front of the hotel. They seemed to be more spacious.

Stayed here for one night. The crew is very attencious. The restaurant is great, loved the lettuce salad as starter. The location is quite good, very close to the beach. The pool is small but very nice. The room i stayed was large, with a great bathtub and a big comfortable bed. The only cons in my opinion was the elevator that is too small. You almost cant go up with 2 luggage .
