“A Plain Palais”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

A line to get in the main entrance, if you have a badge, during the festival. If you go in one of the side entrances, instead, much shorter line. If you're not in the business, you're not missing much, inside.

“Great if you're a delegate, boring if you're a tourist”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

Went here for an advertising festival. It is also the site of the famous Film Festival held in May. The facility itself is large and can accommodate thousands of delegates without getting crowded. There are plenty of mini-theaters, for special exhibits, workshops or mini-conferences. Location is very easy to find (just head towards the beach if you're coming from the train station) with lots of restaurants in the vicinity. The further away from Palais, the restaurants get more affordable. And since Cote d'Azur is an expensive place, there are a few pocket-friendly meal options - a McDonald's a few meters away for those who can't live without American fast food and a Mezzo di Pasta franchise a few meters up towards the Cannes train station for an affordable yet filling meal. Of course, on your last day you can splurge and have Mussels with Fries or the Fruits of the Sea meal in the nearby restaurants.

If you're a tourist not attending a Film Festival or the Cannes Lions show, you can skip this since it is just a fancy convention center and spend your time exploring the shops and sights at the La Croisette, the market, Cannes Old Town and the Castle Museum.

The adjoining beach is nice and clean but it was too cold to swim when I went there.

“So long to wait for not seing anything and when you see its only for few seconde”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Was very nice to see Leonardo Di-Caprio in the film festival in Cannes, the place is very small, and you are allowed to see the red carpet only from one side and its very far from it, then you have all the profesional photographer and camera from the television and magazine just in front of you, and even the big screan is hidden by all the people, decoration and all, so in fact you see absolutly nothing, its only when the celebrity reech the top of the steps that you can see then, but you are so far that you will discover their face on the picture with a good quality zoom :). We had so many hours to wait to see nothing, and most of the celebrities coming you don't know them, except if you are a big fan of cinema and you know all the foreigner realisator... Anyway, you can plan as well as you want, you won't be totaly satisfy.
Worse is if its rainning like it always does during that period. Never go with kids cause people are waiting behind gate and when they are pushing and killing everyone on their way once the gate open !!! so good luck if you come back in live !!

“Over Rated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

Well everyone around the world talks about Cannes and take pictures in front of "Palais des Festivals" on the Red Carpet, well I did the same but wasn't that much impressed about what I saw. Nothing special there, you take the picture (with of course a noisy background full of tourists taking the same picture) and you can see on the floor the Names of the Stars ... and you can go have a good meal and continue shopping! :)
