“It could be much better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

We booked two rooms, a standard normal double room and a twin comfort room.

Everything was extremely clean, and it is very close from the Croisette, the beaches, the festivals palace, and so on. It is also in front of the train station.

It doesn't have parking, but it has a public park a few hundred meters away. This park is really really expensive, but the hotel gives you a 10% discount voucher. Better than nothing.

However, the standard room is extremely small and it lacked maintenance. The shower doors were falling apart.

The double room had much more problems: one of the mattresses was damaged. It was too soft in the middle and my friend leaved the hotel with his back hurting. There was also water falling from the air conditioner on the very same bed. I won't return

Stayed one night at this hotel by the station in Cannes. The location is very good and even if it was just accross the street to the station it was very quiet and we didn't hear any trains etc. The room was very big and clean and bathroom was spacious as well (the only negative thing was that we were not able to close the bathroom door). The bed was very hard and not really comfortable but ok at least for a short stay.
The lady at the reseption wasn't in a very good mood during the stay but it didn't bother us at all in the end.
This is a clean and centrally located hotel for budget travellers, don't expect anything extra but overall a great value.

Stayed at L'esterel during a conference. Arrived late at night and received a room with a terrible smell. Mix of curry and cigarettes. After almost crying at the reception the night keeper agreed to change it. The second room smelled too but it wasn't that horrible..the blankets and bed cover felt like millions of people used them. The general feeling of the room is of a place you don't want to be in it for too long. Will never go back and I'm in Cannes twice a year!

Pros: location directly across from the train station, low rates, lovely breakfast room on top floor with panoramic views

Cons: uncomfortable beds, loud/busy street

Overall a great value but I would not stay for more than 1-2 nights

Summary: Stay here if you want a budget place that is in the centre of Cannes, close to all attractions and you want to spend most of your time outside the hotel and come back just to sleep!

We visited Cannes just for an evening. We reached Cannes after a visit to Antibes. Didnt want to carry our bags around Cannes so checked into the hotel first.

The hotel is right in front of the station , the lane is so close to the station that you cant see it on the google map. We went all the way round the streets to locate the hotel. The reception staff is very friendly, they welcome you with a polite smile and also tell you the places to visit. We also wanted a adapter and they were happy to help from the stock of adapters they had.

The corridors are very clean (unlike H33, nice) but rooms is quite boring. What I mean by boring is the colour of the walls and the quality of furniture the entire layout of the room just makes you want to quickly dashout!!For the same price the H33 in Nice was well decorated and you would enjoy spending few minutes in the room.It just spoils your holiday mood a bit!

But one great thing about this hotel at this cost is its location so close to everything, just walking distance.

So its lovely to just venture out without worrying about the travel options etc,There is also a nice Pizza place right in front of the restaurant that make some fresh pizza. Quite tasty I would say.Close to station too!

The first impression when we got there was "OMG! Let´s pray!". The room is small, but clean, with the basic things you need to sleep. The bathroom was very, very small. The positive thing was the shower. Towels were clean and changed every day. Flat tv in the room and free wifi. There is no free public parking, but you have a private parking a few meters away from the Hotel. You must ask the reception to put a stamp on the parking receipt so as to get a 10% discount on the parking bill. The continental breakfast was ok: 8 euros per person, but taking into account that for a coffee and a croissant you paid 5.50 euros outside the hotel, it was not so expensive. It´s near the train station, 2 streets away from la Rue d'Antibes, and near La Croisette.

Myself and my husband have just returned from a stay of 6 days in this hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location, directly opposite the train station and less than a 10 minute walk to the beach. The Old Town is about 15 mins away on foot. The hotel room was fairly small but unless you are planning a trip to stay in your room this should not be an issue. The room was clean with good aircon. As soon as we left our room each day it was cleaned with fresh towels placed in the bathroom. The breakfast (which costs 8 euro) is sufficient and the setting on the rooftop is lovely. You can also sit on the balcony in the evenings with a glass of wine and admire the view.

We took the airport bus from Nice to Cannes and found the service to be quick and efficient. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk away from the hotel.

I recommend this hotel to anyone who is not bothered about wasting money on lavish furnishings and is looking for a comfortable place to sleep at one of the best locations.
