This hotel represents excellent value for money in what we found to be an over-priced, pretentious, very busy, noisy and over-rated resort. If you really must choose to come to Cannes in July or August, but are on a relatively tight budget and are seeking a quiter hotel 1 km North-East of the noisy high-life, this is an excellent choice. You will be greeted by Catherine and her welcoming polite, helpful staff in this small, family-owned hotel. The rooms are small but clean, relatively quiet and very well appointed. The top floor (3rd) rooms are the ones to choose and there are just a couple of rooms facing the samll garden rather than the street - well worth the small supplement. There is a pleasant, small balcony and the rooms are well air conditioned. The bed is comfortable and the room pleasantly furnished. There is a small pool and delightful jacuzzi facing the sun in the afternoon with relaxing reclining pool chairs with clean, red towels - a quiet haven at the end of any busy day.
Breakfast is modest but adequate and good value for money; there is no other place for breakfast nearby so we would recommend enjoying a quiet homely breakfast in the hotel.
However, eating out for lunch and dinner is recommended as the hotel is not geared up to serve freshly prepared food and their menu, although not expensive, does not compare with some very good restaurants 5 to 10 minutes walk down town.
Having researched thoroughly the hotels in Cannes, most reviews suggest the majority are over-priced, with variable or poor, sultry service and variable standards of cleanliness. Noise pollution in this pretentious city by the sea is a major issue so finding this relatively peaceful haven just outside the city centre was a welcome breath of frsh air and the staff are delightful and always willing to help - the exception not the rule in France. In summary, try to plan your vacation in Cannes or the neighbouring towns on the French riviera outside of the French school holidays - ideally in May/June or September / October. If choosing Cannes, this hotel represents excellent value for money and is a refreshingly positive experience.
Stuart and Lesley.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the third floor facing the small garden and pool and not the street. Avoid ground...

Whwn it comes to professional hospitality I haven't experienced better travelling France. The staff is attentative and helpful in every way. Our room was clean and tidy. A nice small pool and jaccuzi supported the cooling down after a walk through town on a hot summer afternoon. More than enough choice for breakfast. The one minor drawback was an instability of the wifi- connection in our room (right opposite to the reception area). When travelling with a teenage daughter that could be motive for some serious moaning. I definitely would return to this hotel and recommend it warmly.

I had the most amazing experience in Cannes. Starting from the hotel that is great. Beautiful, god location, confortable, clean and it also has a good breakfast for a god price. If I ever go back to Cannes I will definitly stay in Cannes Gallia again.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights during the Cannes Film Festival and were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It was affordable, but still within easy walking distance to the beach and all the action. Found free parking around the corner. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, walking us to our room to show us all of our modern amenities. The room was a bit small, but not unlike other hotel rooms in Europe. We also had a balcony which was a bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel for those who don't mind staying off the main strip.

This hotel was beyond 3 stars when it comes to cleanliness and size of rooms! Unfortunately the weather was bit cold for the pool and jaccuzi was out of order but otherwise our stay at Hotel Gallia was fantastic. It is very close to a gigantic super market where we purchased our dinner and dined on the balcony one time! (Cannes isn't exactly known for it's great restaurants!) We stayed here for the last weekend of the festival and found that everything was within walking distance. It's about 10 min walk to La Croissette and since we arrived by train we were glad that the hotel was about 7-10 min walk from the train station. I would definitely stay here again

Myself and a number of my colleagues stayed here during a very busy Cannes Festival and I have to say that this hotel was such a fantastic find. We were greeted by very professtional and friendly reception staff who checked us in very quickly. First impression is that the hotel reception area was very clean and modern with lovely furnishings. The sweet jars placed around the reception were a lovely and tempting touch!!! We were shown to our rooms by a very friendly member of staff who explained everything about the room including how to use the free Wi-Fi. The rooms were lovely and modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was again spotless with nice toiletries. The rooms were cleaned every day with towel changes if needed. The location of the hotel is perfect. It was approximately a ten minute walk to the Croisette. It is situated in a very quiet area which is a welcome release from the hustle and bustle of the festival. There was a nice outdoor pool and outside terrace area but as we were there on business we didn't get to sample the surroundings although at the end of a long day the staff are more than happy to provide you with a nice drink in the reception area. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this hotel and hope to be able to stay there again next year. A big thank you to the staff who made such an effort to be helpful and welcoming. Oh, I forgot to mention the gift that was left for each of us in the room was a brilliant touch!
