We have just returned from eleven nights in the south of france to which we spent 7 nights at the 3.14 in cannes. The first impresion of the hotel was quite good with a very modern reception but very different. When we were shown to our room level 2 afrique (each floor has a different theme to it being continents). This level is very dark and sometimes quite difficult to see. Also the lift has flashing lights on the roof which is a bit tacky. Now to the room when we first entered the room we noticed several stains on the brown carpet and also a large cigarette burn. There was also a burn on the bathroom door. These are all things you don't expect to see in a four star hotel. Also the balcony looked onto a brick wall which isn't the best of views. When we informed reception they sayed they were fully booked and there was nothing they could do.Also the pool area is quite small so you have to be up early to get a sun lounger. Then on one occasion there were no towels available at the pool as someone in the laundry forgot to wash them.My overall opinion of the hotel is it should never be a four star hotel and the rooms could do with some renovation. Also your room is not cleaned to very late in the afternoon. The one good thing is the singer in the bar who is fantastic.

This Hotel is really incredible.
It is absolutely concept as a machine to steel money from the visitors and make money for the owners!
But the problem is not about the money at all!If you probably visit Cannes you don't want to have a "saving money vacation", the real big problem is that place is abslotely ------ up!
i just leave the decor, it is not my cup of tea endeed, but you know, taste is taste.....anyway if I have to define it I would say that its style want be different just because it must be different without any concept behind or any coerence between the thousends kitchs things placed all over around mixed together which make you fell like to be onto Bordello with any style...
The massive problem is that those people do not absolutely know the meaning of Art of Hospitality.
All the young and non-expert staff seems to be there not for working but as part of a window's shop, than bored and very badly trained!
If you ask for a suggestion about restaurants or things to do in Cannes they won't be able to help you anyway and them english is very poor.
If you have any problem the Manager is never there (probably busy getting tanned on the beach) and than you have to explain the matter to these guys who must be very frustrated and feed up finding themself managing a load of complainse every day!
The room's size is anacettable and the bathroom is like a closet.
The chambermaids sometimes forget to clean the room becuase they are all the day busy chatting and making confusion on the corridor (lukcy if they place in front of your door while you sleep!!!).

For 2 hours of Internet connection we have been charged of 30 euro!....of course only because we had our own pc otherwise we needed to go pilgriming and pick the closest connection in the Town!
The beach is funny becuase it would be considerated a cool place but is full of very arrogant people and very laud childers who make the beach looks like a market on the street.
Very expensive to get a sun bed cause it will cost you 15 euro and the beach close at 6 pm but they start to remove things at half past five....even your peronal staff you leave the place for a while.
The roof pool is the top! They covered a regular swimming pool with some very plastic looking rocks which actually are in very light plastic!Very interesting if I booked in Eurodisney, but not for a "want to be Luxury Hotel."
I have seen with my eyes my unhappy people complaining at the terrible looking desk where you must screen becuase of the screening parrots located located behind the desk...doesn't matter if everyone hate them for the noise and the stink!THEY ARE COOL AND NICE ALL RIGHT?!??
I have been told that the owner of this hotel belongs even a Casino or more than one in Cannes.....my question is: why they don't keeping managing Casinos??
I would finish my speach saying that this is not a cool place at all, is not stylish and is very taky and heavy.
According to my experience there in no reason to stay in this place unless you don't want to break up with your partner for good!....
If you will ever visit Cannes stay definately somewhere else for the same money you can get much more in terms of Service, Space, Kindness, Professionality and Respect.
This is a typical place which attract youngs and insicure people who belive to be cool....don't permit this people to have your money through a beautiful web site which doesn't say the truth!.
I am young (under 30) and I will never ever go back there!

Stayed here for 4 days with my wife as a sort of time delayed honeymoon. All the floors are named for continents and we ended up on 'Asia'. The decor was nice but the room small, even for Europe, though the bathroom was very nice and well appointed. Having never stayed in Cannes before, we were mislead by the 'private beach' claim; I now know no hotels in Cannes are on the beach but instead have small areas staked out on the sand with restaurants/ sun chairs. The hotel's website photos would lead you to believe that the pool looks directly on to the Med and is maybe 50 feet away from the sand. Well thats a kind of forced perspective photographic trick. They really shouldn't bother misleading you, however, as the pool is magnificent, 7 stories up with a nice, not too pricey bar and a jacuzzi with unimpeded water views. Would absolutely stay here again but would make sure I upgraded to one of the rooms at the further end of the hallways for a better view. I don't know why the hotel is so misleading with the information they provide. My wife and I felt angry for being mislead for the first day and didn't really settle in till we realized how nice the place really was, even if it was different from what we'd thought. Outstanding service.

The first thing I tought when I was arrived in 3.14 Hotel is " Is it a joke?" not for the kitsch design but becouse their valet-man told me "the parking is complete we dont' have space for your car". Actually I have a rate including the parking. But it was'nt a joke and after 20 minutes of waiting and the first discussion with the concierge i finally parked the car. After that I waited 2 hours for the room becouse at 3.14 you can check in after the 3.00pm. Like every youth hostel in the world...

After that, we arrived at our room at the asia floor. The room was'nt enough large to contain, me, my partner and our luggage. The toilet looks like a telephone cabin and the wardrobe is so little that we can't put the luggage in. We ask to move in another room. Aftera long discussion, they also told us that a lot of guest are unhappy for the room, we move in another one at europe floor. I have to admit that the style of this floor is very original and surprising. When we arrived in our new room we saw a wonderful welcome kit with a lot of candies and a bag with some presents inside. But it was just another joke becouse after 2 minutes a guy came in our room and told us that the welcome was'nt for us but for another clients!! And he took back the bag with presents and left the candies just becouse we already ate them. We were schocked.

Then...

Every time we had asked information at the concierge thay are bored and unkind.

Always in the hall you can hear others guest disappointed about the hotel.

For an internet connection i spent 30 euros! They don't have free internet!!!!

For all my stayng the room at the 6.00pm was undone. And they provide to clean it only after that we ask to do it.

At last but not least the best joke. On the beachWe paid 15 euros for a sun-bed. We went to do the bath in the see and when we came back we did'nt find our bed with all our stuff!!! Surprise!!! Is'it a joke??? We reinvent our clothes, towels, bags, pickpockets, mobile and i-podes on the chair of the restaurant, where everybody can take what they want. We had to dry ourself very fast and wear our clothes like homeless. All the people on the beach are still on their bed. The staff did'nt explaine us why they bring out our beds.

We had a reservation for 4 nights. We resisted for 2. After the bed-joke we run away more far was possible.

3.14 is not a luxury hotel, expecially is not cool at all.
From when a place kindless, unpolite, expensive and without any service is cool?

Firstly i'd like to mention that i am very fussy and have stayed in many top hotels.

I found this hotel to be ok but a few things i wasn't happy with:

Room - we went for the superior double room and found it to be very small and lacking in up to date technology. They do have LCD screens which are supposed to come with pay movies but these don't work - very annoying.

Bathroom - for the price we paid i would have liked to see a larger bathroom with separate bath and shower. There wasn't a problem as such but just not value for money.

Staff - they had poor English and i would have expected better

Pool - Very small and poor service at pool bar and drinks very expensive.

The good things about this hotel:

Location - Just behind the Carlton hotel right in the centre on the Croissette

Decor - This is a very trendy hotel which is nice as many of the hotels in Cannes are quite old fashioned so nice to see a more minamilist look.
