“Bohemian Side Street”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

A quaint little street filled with life, tiny restaurants and shops, not on the high streets. Plenty of places to explore, hidden little bars and cafes. It's nice just to wander about and marvel what sort of things you see...oh and the crowds..the whole world is here!

“Found ourselves here nearly everyday at some point!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

This road and the little streets off it are perfect for groceries, chocolates, knick knacks, souvenirs, local produce, deli produce, a small Carrefour supermarket, and just any random items you may need during your stay. I loved it here and the real rustic cuisine, the gelatto and the cheese are the types of things I bought here.

“fun street”

If you are tired of designer shops head here for some down to earth shopping and explore side streets for cheaper bars and cafes

“Perfect for a local experience and great prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

As one reviewer said, there is nothing "special" about the rue Meynadier, but that's exactly why it is so great. Save for a few tourist traps, most of the stores are frequented by true "cannois", people going to buy fresh cheese, meats, a good bottle of wine, or pick up a new dress or pair of shoes.
There are very few streets like the Rue Meynadier in other countries. There is an authentic feel to the street that makes it special. It is not plagued with chain restaurants or stores like the Gap, Sephora, or Zara. The majority the stores and restaurants are locally owned. yet, it does not have the feel of a cheap market where bargaining is required. It's a nice street that is definitely worth a stroll. Plus, as you get towards the end of the street, you can hook a right and go up to the marché Forville, and that is another fantastic experience.
Have fun and enjoy, and please, keep an eye on your wallet and purses. There are many tourists there, and therefore pickpockets will be there as well.

“cheap shops and restaurants”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

This is a bustling, colourful street that the kids love as well because there's so much nick-knack, souvenirs, food and sweets here. This year I noticed a fish-spa as well! Did not try this. There is a shop selling shells and things made of shells and other exotic items, which is well worth a visit. The cake shop on the lower corner (Ernest Traiteur) has disappointed us every time we have been tempted to buy something.
