I Liked :
+ Location - closer to city centre (abt 10 mins walking), right in front of the promenade with great view and a couple of good Italian restaurants right outside the hotel
+ Staff - very cooperative and professional staff as expected from a Hyatt hotel....Gregory at the concierge desk deserves a special mention for his perfect tips on tourism in Cannes and his smiling face ;p
+ Property - good property nicely spread out with spacious rooms (ensure you ask for the right room and view)

I Expect:
- Food & Bar - more options (particularly in vegetarian menu...due to which few of my colleagues had to struggle) and better pricing (bar n food was pretty expensive)
- No complimentary f&b items were offered (expect for a small bottle of water) especially considering we had a 2 week long corporate booking from our company

This hotel is a legend on its own. I must say that I was super impressed with rooms. Spectacular views and balconies overlooking the bay. Rooms are lavishly decorated and bathrooms are appointed in true Grand style.

Z Plage restaurant is amazing and food is first class. More on expensive side but worth every euro. Beach fees are steep but worth while and worth the action.

Will continue returning back.

We've been spending New Year here at the Hotel Martinez for the past 7 years and it's always wonderful. We love the feel of the hotel and the staff are always excellent, especially Florence and Philippe the concierge.
The hotel does need a little updating but we do hope that it doesn't lose any of it's charm. We noticed that some of the beautiful old Hotel Martinez signage had been replaced by Grand Hyatt logo and it does seem such a shame. If you do update and refurbish please keep the feel of the art deco and please don't lose that gorgeous Hotel Martinez smell that greets you as you arrive during the Christmas and New Year period.
We love the rooms on the 7th floor but this year we were on the 6th floor and the room was great and view superb.
Please keep the Hotel Martinez umbrellas!

Room Tip: Keep away from La Chunga!

Love this hotel...it s such a great location...the beach area is very nice and private...the hotel is just renovated...it could have been little more done but it s great.
Very prestigious place and slightly pricey. You must avoid the Cannes film festival time in May.....it s soooooo crazy down there.

We were at the Martinez on the night of the 11th of January 2014.The quality of the room, the service and the breakfast were at the level expected for such an hotel. In addition people working there have a very well appreciated friendly attitude.

Room Tip: avoid rooms on the right side (when looking at the beach) as there is two night clubs on the side st...

Hyatt took over this classic hotel recently. I was there in August 2013 for a week. Great location, but the hotel itself needs seriously update. Lobby looks 5 star but the rooms (if you happen to stay in rooms that have been updated) are 3-star at best. Service was decent, but they did make me wait for 30 mins when checking-in. Also, during the last 2 days of our visit, Wi-Fi was down. Beach was nice, but like other hotels nearby, they charge customers for almost everything. With the money I spent on this hotel, there are quite a few other choices nearby. Again, serious update is urgently needed, but in the meantime management has the guts to charge a fully-updated price.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Let me express to you our most sincere regret for not having met your expectations.

As you may know, Hyatt has taken over the Martinez since April 2013. We have begun to make light renovations, changing carpets and fabrics in several rooms each time the occupancy of the Hotel gave us the opportunity to do so. From December 2014 the hotel will undergo a full and extensive renovation phased over three winter seasons and be fully refurbished within end 2016.

Regarding the Internet, please note that we have now a high-speed one (and still free of charge).

Classic art deco hotel reinvigorated by hyatt. Stay the night on new years eve and have a great time at party with great wines and fine 6 coure meal and bands and floorshow up till 1.30 am. Crowded dance floor of all abilities and ages watch the cannes bay fireworks at midnite then continue on dancing. Much better than sitting around waiting for midnight
