I stayed there mid-August for a week with my wife and 3 children .
I know the area very well having spent most of my summers there since i was a child . I was glad to see it is now run by Grand Hyatt as i value the chain tremendously .
The really disappointing part was the facility itself . It is in desperate need of a spruce up . The rooms are generally adequate, nothing fancy but comfortable , but the bathrooms are borderline appalling . I found it unacceptable for Euro 1000/night per room .
The service is generally good but still in a "French" kind of way but they were clearly understaffed and having a hard time to cope with the peak season full house .
Proximity to the beach is excellent but the staff leaves a lot to be desired . You will face the typical French attitude who try to teach everyone manners which honestly the lady giving out towels didn't have any .
Hotel location is great , smack on the Croisette surrounded by cafes , restaurants and shopping .
Everything is extremely expensive as is the case in the area in summer but the hotel laundry exceeds anyone's expectations . Euro 14 for a T-shirt is really really high so for those who decide to stay there there's a laundromat not even 200m from the hotel which does your laundry and pressing (if you don't want to do it yourself) for practically pennies in comparison.
i cant tell about the restaurants except for breakfast which was very good but limited in the variety . otherwise we were mostly eating out .
would i stay there again ? frankly the real deterrent is the outdated facility . They can really turn this into a fantastic facility for very little investment but i doubt they would that . Judging from the huge number of Saudi royalties staying there i don't see what would be their incentive to change anything .
