“A cozy Cannes getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

I have frequently traveled to Cannes in the spring to attend an international convention. During the years, when attendance was very strong (before the economic crisis), it was never easy to get a room in Cannes; many participants had to stay in surrounding towns and villages. By default, the first year I attended, I was placed at the Victoria by the event organizer. Frankly, I was so happy with the accommodations, that I requested the hotel many times in the following years. Frankly, the rates charged for any accommodation during this event jump to the realm of ridiculous pricing. It is, what it is, and I'm sure it's the same for all of the major events held in this beautiful seaside town. Even with the pricing during my event, I found the Victoria to be a charming, small hotel. Most importantly, the staff is fantastic. They truly make guests feel welcome. The location, while not view-oriented, is ideal and an easy walk to just about everything. One year, due to circumstances I did not control, I ended up extending my stay. The hotel price dropped immediately, by a substantial amount--to their standard rate, when it is not event time in Cannes. I loved my cozy little room, so requested it each year I stayed at the Victoria--something about that made the hotel feel even more like home.

If you're not concerned about luxury, but a nice little hotel with very comfortable accommodations and a wonderful staff, I'd recommend you check out the charming, little Victoria, Cannes.

Stayed here during Mipcom in October, the Media Event that brings media people from everywhere in the world, and had to put up with the ridiculous rates charged for this very simple hotel. OK, it has a pool, but other than this, the only pro I can find is the location, a mere few steps from the Croisette, the beachfront avenue in Cannes. Actually, it also has a garage, which is also nice, considering how difficult it is to park around town.

Room Tip: Prefer front rooms, but be ready to pay more

A wonderful small hotel with comfortable clean rooms with plenty of closet space. Very good location, near the beach, and shopping. Parking garage available. Excellent service from all staff, from front desk to bell boy. We had a reservation for 3 nights but we extended for 2 more nights due to superior service. A must stay in Cannes!

Spent 2 days at this lovely hotel in Cannes in 2nd week of Sept and were very pleased. Kind of stumbled on to it as we drove into Cannes using our GPS, the first hotel we looked at and were quick to make up our minds.
It´s located a block or two up from the beach promenade on a quiet street and has a pretty front. At the reception was a friendly and polite gentleman (spoke fluent English) who showed us a room on the second floor. It had recently been renovated quite tastefully and looked just lovely with a balcony overlooking the poolarea in front of the hotel. Everything was nice and clean, good bed and bathroom, even had robes and slippers.
Breakfastbuffet was rather simple but adequate and just lovely to sit outside by the pool and enjoy the sunny weather whilst eating.
This is a small hotel with a big heart and friendly yet professional atmosphere. It´s located just a short walk from the promanade with all the expensive/glamorous shops and restaurants, but the gentleman at the desk adviced us which way to walk to find better and less expensive restaurants for dinner and we were not disappointed. Also we found a lot of shops on the street behind the hotel with reasonable prices.
We will certainly stay here again if we are passing through.
P.S. Very convenient to have access to the car garage underneath the hotel.

My husband and I stayed at the Victoria Hotel for three nights at the end of June. We found the staff to be extremely helpful and polite. The room with a balcony was very comfortable, clean and with a decent size bathroom. The additional bonus was the use of the underground garage. The hotel is within walking distance of the beach as well as the other amenities in Cannes. We would highly recommend it given that we walked into it on the Sunday night and booked to stay for the Monday onwards without having to pay a deposit or give any form of security.

This a very good hotel, at an excellent location. Very clean, very well kept, excellent bed, no noises from the street, and the owner, a very nice man, is permanently there. We had initially booked the Citadines Carnot, which was awful, not very clean and with a decadent furniture. We decided not to stay there and searched for another hotel folowing the Frommer's guide. The Hotel Victoria was a very pleasant surprise. We stayed there for 6 nights. The price, after a bit of talk, was 130 euros for the night, which suited us well. At the back of the hotel is the Rue d'Antibes, the commercial street with all the good boutiques and a lot of good bakeries and restaurants around. We will return.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2006

We stayed 3 nights at the Victoria hotel in Cannes in March. Its location is excellent - everything within walking distance. There are 25 rooms in total - we had a standard room which was clean, modern but rather small. It is, in my opinion, rather expensive though. Euros 240 for our room - the basic standard room without breakfast (another 17 euros for a continental breakfast). We were able to find a room at the Hilton for our last night at only 119 Euros - and its location and facilities and room size is much better. However, if you can't get a deal at the Hilton, the Victoria is a well located place to stay and I would recommend it from that perspective. Any questions, just ask.
