“Renovation, well done”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Formerly known as The Palais Stephanie and now called JW Marriott Cannes. Not all all rooms are as spacious as the ones in this Hotel especially compared to other Hotels in Cannes.
The renovation seems to be a success. The Lobby got a face lift as well as The Restaurant. Great location and really nice staff. Speedy check in, clean rooms and everything works.
I recommend this Hotel anytime for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: best rooms are facing the ocean with an amazing view on the Cote D'azur.

Totally disappointed. First of all our check in experience was totally ruined. I am a platinum for life member and was given attitude at check in, staff did not acknowledge my status at all, did not care, when asked for an upgraded room was told to pay more ( I'm platinum for the love of god). First room had 2 twins bed and we were there on honeymoon and it was clearly documented on file. Great two twins on honeymoon thanks! Was later upgraded to a suite but with major attitude. Hotel experience did not meet Marriott standars. Also you need to PAY to use the hotel beach and the rooftop pool is nothing to write home. Service at the pool bar is very disappointing, there is no exec lounge, hotel cleanliness does not meet Marriott standards ( to my knowledge. For example carpets in hallways in rooms were dirty ) and overall staff service is very disappointing. Value for money is very poor (and I'm used with the brand as a platinum member).

if you got used to Marriott standards, then a visit to JW Marriott Cannes will be a disappointment - you cant sleep at night because you hear all what happens behind the windows (a complaint to the reception didnt change anything, though it was promised); the shower broke down (fixed later by request); the pool is extremely tiny (you cant really imagine how tiny it is), as well as the "gym". And finally - the hotel charged me twice and it took a lot of time to get my extra charged money back

This was the first time I stayed at this hotel, although I am frequently staying overnight in the area.Although some things, eg breakfast where very good, they missed the opportunity to impress me.internet acces and room service menus are expensive.Rooms are OK, but they should pay much more attention to details ( eg replacing used towels, refilling the coffebar items etc

Here for a conference. Exterior of the building is not the most stylish, but interior is impressive.
Room was very comfortable, good size, and bed very comfortable. All the staff I encountered were very efficient and friendly. As attending the conference we had separate breakfast and lunch from main hotel, but all was excellent. Despite November chill we had dinner with other conference attendees on the room terrace. Spectacular views across Cannes and I would say a must if you are there in warm part of the year. Location on the front is perfect. Cannes is not cheap, and neither is this hotel but you should not go to Cannes expecting deals. Room service and minibar prices are just as outrageous as I would expect in this class of hotel in Cannes - but given hotel location there is no compulsion to actually have to use them-you can walk quickly to loads of places selling food and drinks. I would happily return.

Arrived at the hotel during a major rainstorm to find a huge parked coach blocking the driveway so I am soaked before even entering the hotel. Once inside and checked in to the hotel many issues started to arise, I placed a room service order, it was forgotten and never delivered, the internet and TV are satellite based and so when its raining crappy TV signal and no internet. They had two english channels one of which had picture and no voice. The location was excellent on the Croisette, close to shopping and restaurants. This hotel has had quite a few owners and I would have thought before Marriott put a JW flag on it, major renovations would have been completed, they were not. The hotel's food and bar outlets are astronomically expensive. Since it was so wet and windy that weekend, I had occasion to visit a few other hotels on the Croisette and you can do better, way better with a little research.

Room Tip: Dont fall for the Seaview upgrade fee, its exhorbitant and not worth it.
