“awesome cant avoid nor miss this”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

great jem of the area , we loved to sit on beach view benches and check out the sunset like the locals. Many spots to stroll to and just take in this quieter than (nice) beach location. Look for beach chair and reservations and book in advance sine most all is privet rentals in front of the hotels . On the north side there is a free local public beach . Some folks are a bit seedie especially at night.
Great photo ops even if your passing thru

“Nice but The Promenade the Anglais it isn't.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2013

I did like La Croisette, however when strolling along it and the view of the boats and yachts featuring i found myself reflecting at how wonderful the Promenade in Nice is.
Cannes is best enjoyed for it's atmosphere of quiet and assured opulence La Croisette is an apt reflection of this.

“Classic stroll on the prom”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2013

Striking view of sparkly blue sea, rolling waves, empty beaches, earthed up beach cafés, huge palms, towering hotels, the kind of shops you daren't enter and well-wrapped up well-dressed people of a certain age being taken for a walk by a pair of tiny dogs. Always two. Oh, and a Ferrari with key scratches all down one side. Ouch! On the return journey, bucking the icy wind, you are confronted by the Palais des Festivals nuclear bunker.

“Urban beach front with limited public access”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

The beachfront in Cannes has a pedestrian walkway where you can stroll and sit to watch the world pass you by. Access to the sand is typically via a pay-for-use arrangement where you rent a deck chair/spot on the sand, or you are staying at a hotel which grants you access, etc. There are limited public areas so you can build a sand castle with your kids without having to part with money! As far as beaches go on a world scale, its an urban one with lots of visitors and people using boats so don't expect pristine conditions either on the sand or in the water.
