Cannes: La Croisette
A promenade that leads directly into movies
By Zoran Slavic

I traveled from Nice to Cannes. We filmed the show on Cote d'Azur. Compared to many places on the Cote d'Azur or the south of France, Cannes is not the most beautiful or the most important city. However, the by perception and publicity, particularly in exclusive target of known concentration, celebrity and the predominant people, especially from the world of film, this is a city, at least once a year, one of the capital cities of the world. Be in Cannes is thing of prestige.
So I was in the city, where each year showing the world the best movies, five times! I passed promenade La Croisette at least two times a day. From our apartments to the building called Palais, in which maintains the Cannes Film Festival. Fully air-conditioned and self-building. Before noon there - back in the evening. On this route, a relatively short, just over 2 kilometers, lies about the grandeur of buildings, vegetation, sea, commercial and glamour. Of course, world famous physiognomy. Here, during the Festival relocate all persons with a front page world media. However, I came to Cannes to the Fair television programs, but I felt a vertiginous obsession with the world of film. Cannes has no airport, so from
Nice here comes the highway, the coastal way by sea or of railways. Airplanes do not fly neither to Monte Carlo, and in addition, Cannes and Monaco are now more prestigious city of Nice, which was once the queen of the Côte d'Azur.
La Croisette in Cannes and he is the city's most populated almost village while flying his total wealth in large quantities of visitors exceeding gross income between many countries of the world. Daily walks along the promenade, in the early morning, I saw how meticulously clean the beach next to the hotel, as daily supplements sand, shortly hosts and people make all these guests from the world
have in mind only the sight of this genteel resort. One spring evening I stopped by with friends in the garden of an hotel. For appetizer. Near the hotel Carlton. My host, the Serb who lives and works in France, he warned me to be here in Cannes, but also in Antibes and Saint Raphael, catering garden - warming in early spring. The explanation was unexpected: Atomic electric power station, which is located in the hinterland of the Côte d'Azur, they have excess energy - so heated and open spaces!
Cannes and La Croisette are truly unique. A living miracle, it seems somewhat fictitious and simulated, but life requires places were just a product of the human need for illusions and ardor.
Film producers and starlets for the festival in May. Tourists year-round and crowds of tourists in the summer. Exotic people and real people, and plenty of poodles. What is a story in itself. The yachts and cruise ship float in the blue water, and you cannot always tell Which is Which by the size. Exotic cars abound: white-haired ladies drive Maseratis for shopping trips, Porsches blow through the streets like pollen, and only the very latest models of Lamborghini and Ferrari attract serious attention. The city of Cannes is centered on the old port, with the central part fully compact. However, most will remember the famous "Croisette," this famous boulevard, the boulevard and the beach that extends around the bay to the east of the port, in the protected "Rade de Cannes."
On one occasion, as a guest at a film producer from Canada, I'm sitting in
a week in the morning, in the garden of a luxurious and expensive hotels Carlton. Drink a fine drink while Cannes visitors, almost all the rich and somewhat old, promote coastal promenade. And at that moment I became aware of why many come here - while walking, along the Croisette it is easy to believe that life is really a dream.

“It's a street along the bay for gods sake”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

I am not sure what it is that impresses people here. Rue D'antibe is so much more interesting with shops and restaurants. La Croisette is nothing but a four lane busy street line with average hotels, luxury retail shops and expensive restaurants. Cannes s nice and there is nicer in Cannes

“Essence of this city!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

The Croisette is the essence of Cannes - the fame and the story, you were in Cannes only if you make it up and back by the Croisette - the feeling is great.

I personally like the early or late hours on the sea side runaway - as the sea noise and sunrise or sunset with much less people around (out of the season though!- summer or festivals time - it is alwas crazy and to be avoided).

You may have a snack or just sit at the usually occupied by the olders chairs with the view to the sea, have a walk to the much more pleasant east part of the streat with the Park of Alexander III or simply have fun around the Palace looking for the hand print of your favorite artist! It is nice place, nice city, just a feelilng of great life there!

“Cannes is my favorite place in the world (so far).”

I love this city. I could live here and never look back. It is amazing to stroll along the beach and have the glittering city across the palm lined street. It's like being in a novel. Magic.

“Its basically just a street when it all boils down to it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

Nothing bad to say about La Croisette, however, it is what it i, a street along the beach with expensive shops on the other side and all the pricey hotel, four seasons and so on. It is anice street to stroll along in the early morning or when the sun sets at nice. basically a place to people watch
