Owner description: Discover this Cote d'Azur seaside Palazzo, luxurious reconstitution of an Ancient Greek Villa. At the edge of the sea, facing the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, the Villa is a magic place that takes you back in time. Entirely furnished and decorated, the Villa's many rooms bear witness to the art of living and refinement of Ancient Greece. The Villa is also a place for wedding and receptions organization.

“Worth a visit if staying for a few days”

A mock Grecian villa that is very interesting and worth about an hour of the day. Close to the very centre of Baulieu-s-Mer and you can buy a joint ticket that gives reduced price to the Rothschild Villa about 1 mile away (a more interestig place to visit).

“A real find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

If you are 'doing' the Villa Ephrussi di Rothschild which, apart from the garden, I think is overrated, just go down the hill to this gem...... You really get an idea of how a prosperous graeco/roman family lived. The statues alone in the undercroft are worth the visit. I really fancied the sunken bath!

“Another 'CultureSpace' gem ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013 via mobile

The company that runs this tourist attraction seems to specialise in very personalised, more boutique style exhibitions - we have now been to four of their 'spaces' around France. I had heard about Villa Kerylos and really only went because I thought I should be a good little tourist etc ... descriptions of it being incredibly ornate to the degree of being 'tizzy' were not overstated, however; it was fascinating because of its 'tizziness'! One man's determination (coupled with his wealth!) to recreate a villa in the style of Ancient Greece is fascinating .... I wonder whether Theodore Reinach was supremely patriotic; a show-off of the highest order; or whether he had a philanthropic and generous foresight to create and preserve some of the architectural beauty of his heritage ? Will we ever really know.
It's really worth a visit.

“Ancient Greece on the Riviera.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

A very interesting and beautifully created villa. It was built in 1908 by a French family interested in Ancient Greece. They put in modern features like anthropomorphic and plumbing but the reproductions of furniture and Tate's are excellent. The seaside setting is really nice. We walked from Villefranche, about 2 miles. Nice walk and then a visit to the town. You can also take a train from Nice or Menton.
