We have visited this lovely ambient restaurant a few times, as we are both Londoners and also Antiboise locals.
The food is always really fresh, beautifully cooked and presented, with great flavour & skill.
Our last visit was New Year's Eve 2011-2012.
We are usually very, very reluctant to adhere to spending money on 'set' menus like new years eve, valentines day etc ... as usually the restaurant see it as a way to simply massively 'bump' up their prices!!
Whilst Le Comptoir's new year's menu was €75 per head, each delicious course was freshly cooked and absolutely divine!! WELL WORTH EVERY EURO!!
There was an amuse bouche of truffled, new potato and a veloute, then the sweetest, freshest scallops cooked 2 ways, then gorgeous homemade lobster raviolis, then fillet of beef, en croute, with escalope of foie gras, then a selection of cheeses and finally a beautiful desert of homemade vanilla nougatine ice cream, with a spun-sugar basket topped with a sparkler.
It also has to be said, that on the table next to us, we noticed that the lady said she could not eat shellfish and despite not forewarning/discussing this with the restaurant before her scallops arrived. The waitress quickly took this plate away, without any fuss. The proprietor/chef Nicolas, quickly, freshly made another more suitable dish for this person.
Under the circumstances, very, very few restaurants would offer such service!
Advisable to book, as it's a favourite restaurant destination for many!
