“Not 4 star, but quite good value in this area for what we paid”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Having read previous reviews I don’t think some people read the hotel information properly before booking! It clearly says on all the booking websites that a pack of sheets, pillow cases and towels have to be rented at 18euros per person, unless you take your own. Plus you do have to put the sheets on the beds and take them back to reception at the end of your stay. You also pay a refundable deposit of 200euros per room and you must leave the room clean and take your rubbish to the dustbins, or they will deduct 55euros from your deposit for cleaning. Again this info is clearly provided on all the websites. So if you know what to expect, you probably won’t be too put out, as the hotel is quite cheap, considering that this is the exclusive South of France and all accommodation prices tend to be high.
Hotel is in a residential area of Antibes in a quiet side street. It’s more like an apartment block than a hotel. If you go, expect 3-star standards, clean apartments and nice pools, friendly multi-lingual staff - and you won’t be too disappointed. Don’t bother paying extra for a sea view room, we did, but could only see about 2 inches of distant sea view. There is a single sofa bed with another single bed underneath that you pull out. This pull-out one has extendable legs so you can be on the same level as your partner and push the beds together! There are also bunk beds in the lobby area, although not good if you are over 5ft 6 tall unless you like sleeping in the foetal position. Plenty of storage space for clothes and a fridge, hob, microwave, dishwasher and flatscreen TV.
The location is ok if you don’t mind a bit of walking as there is nothing much around the hotel at all. We found a bakery serving fresh coffee and croissants, and a supermarket, if you turn right out of the hotel and walk through a car park and then turn left at the end (10 mins walk). Hotel is also about 10 minutes walk to Antibes train station where you can take direct trains cheaply to all the other resorts along the coast - we did Cannes, Juan Les Pins and Monte Carlo – all worth a visit. You can get the 250 bus from Nice Airport Terminal 2 to the bus stop opposite Antibes station (15 euros return, takes about 20 mins). Hotel is about 20 minutes walk to old Antibes and the port – the first few roads you cross after leaving the hotel are busy so don’t chance crossing until the traffic lights go red – we saw a nasty accident.
Rooftop pool in hotel is nice and peaceful (sunbeds but no bar so keep drinks in your apartment fridge and take them up there). There is also another pleasant pool and well-kept gardens. Hotel is right next door to a public indoor swimming pool / leisure centre, so you can always go in there if the weather’s bad.
There’s a bar in the hotel but no atmosphere, was always empty when we were there. You have to get one of the reception staff to come and serve your drinks.
You have to check out of your room by 10am but can leave luggage with hotel.
Would I return? It was pretty good value for money and it was clean, but I would probably rather stay nearer to old Antibes, or in Cannes. A long review but it’s important to know what to expect.

Room Tip: Ask for a sunny balcony so you dont get one of the bottom floor rooms, but don't bother paying f...

I payed 762 euros for a 9 night stay there, i arrived at 4pm only to find out my room was not ready and they would call me later, never happend! Then when i saw the bad couch bed, with a bed cover from 1983, my heart sank. Then I found out, i had to rent sheets/pillow case for the bad plastic pillows, and a towel that can only be descibed as a dish cloth. The pillow cases had black stains on them as well. The shower head was broken, the sink gurgled all night, and the a/c was broken. After one night of no sleep, i decided to leave. I offered to pay half of the 762 euros for their inconvienience, but they would not refund any of it. Not to mention the rental of sheets and the 10 euros an hour for internet!!!!!

We had an apartment because we were in Antibes to see friends who lived nearby., The hotel was ideal for this but certainly not the kind of place I would have wanted to spend much time in. Maybe we were unlucky in that we had no view at all - only over a car park. The twin beds were also a sofa and had to be made up with sheets that cost extra. We used the well equipped kitchen for breakfast and that was all - we did not use the restaurant which didn't look very inviting. The staff did their job but the occasional smile would have helped!

Checking out was interesting. We had given a 200 Euro deposit on arrival. This was returned in entirety at the end of the stay without the room being checked. Needless to say I had left it looking immaculate but how did they know this?

Room Tip: Ask if there is a view when you book - sadly we didn't!

They advertised a rooftop pool with great views and told me the hours when I checked in, but somehow failed to mention that the pool is closed in March. Would have been great to know before I dropped $400 for a room for a week.

The personnel in the hotel was charming and always very helpful, the rooms clean and functional . Our rooms had large balconies with a splendid sea view and sun lounges. The hotel is also superbly well located half way between Cannes and Nice, so easy to radiate by car across the Cote d'Azur. The rooms have a fully functioning kitchen and convenience shops at walking distance . Wifi is available in the reception only but very reliable, skype included.

This is a very good value place to stay in the South of France. Antibes train station is about a 5 minute walk at most from the front door, a further 5-10 minutes and you're in the centre of Antibes. The hotel is situated on a busy road but set back quite a distance from it so noise isn't too bad - you can take a number 6 or 10 bus from Antibes station for 1 euro and get dropped off pretty much directly outside which is handy.

The hotel itself is pretty basic. Rooms are decent size, each with a balcony which has enough room for the number of people staying in the room. The rooms are in need of freshening up though, the pull out beds are pretty tatty and the white pebble-dashed walls aren't overly appealing. Our room had a toilet room separate from the bathroom (which also had a shower over the bath). Both were fine but also in need of upgrading, although that would inevitably push up the price.

There is a nice rooftop pool with views across Antibes and over towards Nice. Internet access is available at a cost, we found it to be very slow in the rooms however a cheaper option is offered in the reception area which was fine. Linen and towels are not included as standard, we hired bed linen for 13 euros per person, towels would have been another 5 each on top.

There is a large swimming complex between the hotel and main road which can be a bit noisy at times when events are on. Also, a large amount of building work is underway next door for a new auditorium, which looks liked it might still have a few months of work to be done before it is completed. If you hire a car you can park on the main street, on the side street leading to the hotel or pay to park in the hotel's underground car park.

Room Tip: If you phone up you can request a specific room, 4th floor at the back of the hotel looked quietest...

This was the cheapest hotel we stayed at on our trip to southern France but one of the best. Quiet rooms with own balcony. Clean and with dishwasher.
Nice rooftop pool. Very close to busses and train station making us opt for leaving the car in Antibes and visiting many cities by public transportation.
Only complaint was the bed, we expected a double bed but got a pull out couch in two different levels, more for friends than couples.
