Beautiful park next to the Palais de Papes, worth a walk thru and a great spot to watch the sunset. There is a restaurant in the middle, but it was closed when we were there on a Tuesday.
As a garden next to Pope Palace, it was not so elegant and beautiful as I was expecting. But the view at top is quite nice and good for relaxing.
We visited the gardens most evenings to make use of the busy little children's playground that is there suitable for under 8's. It was really pleasant walking up to the gardens in the evenings when the worst of the heat was leaving the day. The views are fantastic from the gardens and there are ducks to watch and a fish pond too. We didn't try out the little horses that can be hired and taken around the park, but they are there for 1-8 yr olds, with pedals and reins so a choice of how to move them.
A nice and relaxing place to visit if you need a break from your busy trip. Here you can find a nice bench for a relaxing picnic lunch (french style) with a great view of Rhône and watching people. If you need a place to relax and enjoy your vacation, this is one of them.
Hot day. Ascended, passing the Cathedrale to Rocher des Doms, a Park popular and sometimes busy spot on a high spur of rock with interesting views and attractions. Yet, we found a place to sit and watch the ducks or lay on the grass under the trees and have a nap.
