What a delightful surprise - this beautifully decorated (with gems from around the world) and refurbished home with the most gracious host, Maya. So elegant, comfortable and completely relaxing. Delicious breakfast. Quiet, convenient location. Maya offered all kinds of tips and travel advice, as well as great conversation. She is an absolute pro and a natural in this role. Absolutely the best stop of our whole trip to France.

Excellent place with a nice room, brand new bathroom, comfortable. Madame Maya excellent host, gives all kind of useful tips for sites around Avignon to visit, good restaurants in Avignon itself, easy to park the car just in front of the house, walking distance to the center of the city, it is within the walls. We enjoyed very much our stay with good breakfast and amenable conversation with Mme. Maya.

Maison Velvet is a beautiful 3 bedroom home located in a residential area just inside the old walls of the city. The quiet location is perfect and within easy walking distance to many popular sites in Avignon. We enjoyed a charming and spacious bedroom with original tile work and large private bathroom.There is also an inviting terrace available for guest use as well as a kitchenette. Our hostess was very welcoming and conscientious. She provided us with valuable local information as well as recommendations for less touristy restaurants. Breakfast was very enjoyable with yogurt, fruit, a selection of cheeses, croissants and homemade jams. We would definitely recommend a stay a Maison Velvet.

After a "business" hotel in Arles, Maison Velvet was a fantastic find in Avignon. We received a lovely warm welcome and the choice of three delightful rooms in this beautiful 1930's house in a quiet corner of the old walled city. The bedrooms are individually decorated and have woderful original tiled floors. The beds are fabulously comfortable. There is a small sitting room for guests and a lovely terasse to sit out on. In October the room was pleasantly cool despite being mid 20's outside, so no need to use A/C though this was available too. Breakfast was filling, french AND healthy. Our hostess was happy to recommend resaurants and travel arangements - highly recommended!
