My wife and I stayed here for 1 night in June '11 as we made our way south from Paris to Nice. We should have stayed here longer. The room itself was beautiful, a Privilege-Terrrasse on the top floor with balcony overlooking the Place de l'Horloge. I've stayed in Avignon before and would recommend everyone visit it at least once; this hotel is perfect base for exploring it, walking distance to everything. I'm already looking for an opportunity to return.

This hotel is in an excellent location, being on the main square, and within short walking distance of avignon's major sights. I can imagine that in summer it could get noisy, but in winter there is no problem. The rooms are not huge, but clean and comfortable and well priced. There are stairs between the elevator and the rooms, so bear in mind if you have mobility issues. The staff were very helpful with all requests. All in all, a very good four star hotel!

My family and I stayed in two rooms for two nights each this hotel. The hotel was well managed, staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Despite the fact that we booked the rooms together and paid the same price, they were substantially different, however. One room was moderate sized with a long hallway leading to a large bathroom with a bathtub and hand shower. The other was small with a small bath with only a very small shower stall. So, be prepared for the fact that this is an old hotel and the rooms are not "cookie-cutter" as you find in most current US hotels.

The location of the hotel right on Place De L'Horloge was excellent. We spent two days thoroughly exploring the old city and historic areas and enjoyed our experience in Avignon tremendously. We had to park outside the wall and walk our suitcases into the hotel (not a great distance, but cobblestoned and uneven for most of the way). We chose not to take breakfast in the hotel (very expensive) because it was easily available in many local restaurants for one third the price and we enjoyed the adventure of finding a new place each morning.

One note: there were three small sets of stairs from the elevator to our room so this is not the best hotel choice for those with mobility issues.

October 2012, my wife and I stayed in Avignon an extra three days after finishing a tour, and booked a small suite in this hotel for its location and good reviews. It was late enough in the season that outside noise wasn't a problem, and we were within fast walking distance to everything. Good restaurants were very close. The room was comfortable and roomy, wifi worked well, and it had a good shower. Price of 158E/night was reasonable. The lobby was minimal, the desk staff was efficient and well-informed though not all that friendly, Breakfast in the hotel seemed pretty pricy since we didn't have the need to stuff ourselves, so we had breakfast in the bistro in front which was fast, good, and cheap. We can't imagine what a zoo it might be around this hotel when the summer festival is in full swing.
