“Oysters, Wine, Bread and Cheese”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

A delightful farmer market close to the tourist places.
A wonderful display of produce, bread, wines, sea food.
I spent several hours just looking and then had a picnic lunch of Bread from one vendor, cheese from another, sipped a nice wine purchased next to the oyster stalls
as I waited for the oysters that I selected to be opened.
On my visit the people, the shoppers, the vendors were happy and friendly. A nice experience.

A possible disadvantage is that this might be too much time than one would want to spend if time is an issue.

“More fun than the restaurants!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

We had a private rented apartment in Avignon and after finding the market, we rarely ate out again. The game stall is excellent -- rabbit, quail, duck, guinea fowl, pheasant, and more. Excellent fish stalls, cheese, bread, and fresh vegetables. Also a couple of excellent prepared-food stalls if you don't want to cook. There are free cooking lessons on Saturdays at 11. Just loved it.

“Enjoy the food, smells and have coffee with locals”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013

Go and enjoy.

I entered just after the doors were open to the public. The stands were still setting up but the coffee station was open. I had a great cup of coffee along with the bakery treats i bought at the bakery inside.

There is a stand selling seasoned salts and spices. (Great place to buy something local and bring it back home). I should have bought some olive oil here, as the price was good.

The building closes early afternoon, so if you go, arrive in the morning.

I would have come back for lunch but had other places to see.

“Food festival in Les Halles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

We love visiting markets wherever we go and this one did not disappoint. Lots of fruit & veg, and some amazing fish not to mention spit roast chickens and local baker stalls. Best of all there was a Food Festival mid September, where stall holders would offer chocolates, cakes, biscuits and fruit. It was really enjoyable (and would have been great even without the festival). A good place to feel like a local and pick up local food items.

Wide range of interesting produce on display and a cafe so you can sit and people watch. Well worth a visit.
