tough to always find staff when you need them, some staff very limited English (French was not my foreign language in school so it was a little tough to pick up), odd moldy/fishy smell throughout the 2nd floor, noisy (very little buffering, we knew when our neighbors were up), parking was inconvenient (had to ask every time we wanted our car and walk a few blocks to retrieve).
would I stay here again? If I went back to Arles (and I'm honestly not sure if I would -we did practically everything there was to do and it just never felt like we'd cracked the cultural shell and found it tough to relate with the locals, as we had easily done in parts of Provence), I doubt I would return to Musee. I'd probably try to find a place more convenient for day trips and smaller/cozier with hosts who were more interested in our travels and our overall experience.
It's not that the hosts/operators at Musee were bad, it was just more obviously a hotel than a B&B and I guess I was missing the chance to really connect. They were not the "stereotypical rude French archetype", but behaved as any American hotel worker would. Polite but not engaging, allowing for your privacy.
