The Hotel du Forum was the focal center of our three day stay in Arles. In spite of being located in the heart of the old city, our GPS lead us precisely through the narrow one-way streets to the hotel. (Do stop at the Tourist Visitor center on your way in). We were greeted at the door, and our SUV driven to a nearby locked garage by the doorman. We were traveling with my parents, so the elevator was a real key, as well as the walk-in shower in their room, unlike our hotel in Paris. Our rooms were quite spacious, with the tall ceilings adding to the sense of great space. We enjoyed the hearty breakfast each morning at the hotel. One morning when a tour group filled the dining room, hotel management suggested they serve us in our room. The four of us very much enjoyed looking out over the the Place du Forum while enjoying our croissants, breads, cheeses, tea and coffee. The location was perfect for walking to the Roman forum and other preserved sites, as well as to the incredible Arles market, said to be the largest in Europe (unbelievable array of olives, cheeses, fish and seafood, sweets and breads, and more). We also day-tripped from Arles to many nearby sites. The hotel management was quite helpful in making restaurant recommendations, and there are many nearby that are quite good. If you enjoy Van Gogh, it was a unique treat to be right across from the yellow cafe featured in his famous painting! We very much enjoyed Arles, and the Hotel Du Forum was a perfect place to return to each afternoon. We highly recommend this hotel to you!
