Once again I got lucky. We picked this hotel because it was close to the Old Section of Aix, the tourist area (we’re tourists so Duh?) and because it had a small kitchen where we could refrigerate things (cheese, eggs, wine) and make - and keep ice. We like ice – sue me. The Hotel was just fine. I would go back. The service fit the price, call it good. The rooms were clean and it was enough space to stay a week and not feel crowded. Two nice large windows afforded light and a cool breeze from the courtyard below. The place is also quiet. My personal favorite. There is a restaurant on the first floor and it was great for a nice breakfast. The trees on the street were just pruned so it was a bit stark, but no big deal. What was really cool was that we could walk to the “Cours Mirabeau” the heartbeat of the city, in my mind. There the Café were Paul Cezanne hung out and the centerpiece statue of St. Jean de Malte – (he brought grapes from Italy for wine so he’s well loved) The street magically turns into a market a couple of times a week, so look at the before and after photos. I’m quite fond of this little Hotel and the price is just right….
we had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the courtyard. Large, bright and quiet
