“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

We were really looking forward to our stay here but it really did not meet our expectations - when we arrived there was a mixup with the room we had reserved which made us uncomfortable - the breakfast arrangement was not good - one table was set for 6 and twice out of our 3 night stay we were asked to wait because the table was full - just what you don't feel like in the morning ! Also the use of the communal area was not very welcoming - even if we wanted to make a cup of tea or sit at the table it was not encouraged - to top it off we the toilet paper in the room was not replenished and I ended up downstairs in the sauna area at night trying to find some -not perfect !!

Dear"JasperMelbourne"

Thank you very much for having stayed at La Maison d’Aix earlier last month and for your review. I am always grateful to our guests for taking the time and trouble to record their feedback as this is the only way for us to maintain and improve, where necessary, the high standards of service our guests have come to expect from us. I have therefore met with the managers responsible to investigate and the following has come to light :

- Our records indicate that you were booked through the merchant website booking.com and offered with room Le Corset which is actually a beautiful room. As you may understand, we are not able to confirm a specific room through an offer made on booking.com. The only category you can select on Booking.com is either The Love Suite or one of the available rooms at the time of reservation. In order to please you, we consequently adjusted your bill prior to your departure. We will recommend for your next stay to book your stay directly with us, getting a specific room type.

- Please accept our apologies for your less than perfect breakfast experience. Additional training has now been given to ensure that even the newest members of the team are fully up to speed and offer you a perfect French Tradition breakfast experience.

This I mention by way of explanation only and certainly not as an excuse for the disappointment we caused. Please do not hesitate to contact me personally when you next plan to travel to Aix en Provence, so that we can correct the impression you currently have of La Maison d’Aix.

This hotel is so great that I would not want to tell anyone but keep it to myself!
Location is ideal for visiting Aix-en-Provence, shops and places of interests are all within walking distances. Breakfasts are included with local fresh fruit served. The hotels facilities are great, staffs are friendly and provided very good recommendation to visit and dine in the town. Out of all these lovely things that they offered, you just feel like home staying in this property.

We had a wonderful stay at the Maison d'Aix. The room was fabulously furnished and quite spacious. Everything spotlessly clean. The management was very attentive, nice and helpful. The maison itself is located on a quiet street in a charming neighbourhood, only a short walk from the city center and the restaurants. Breakfast was also very good.
Totally recommend the Maison d'AIx.

Just one word : PERFECT. This hotel is located within walking distance of all shopping areas, restaurants, and most of all in the heart of the Quartier Masarin. Unbeatable location.

As soon as you walk in, you will know you've arrived somewhere special, out of time.
The staff is so kind and helpful. We met Laura, the architect who spent hours telling us how she restored this beautiful place. It’s a masterpiece.
You woke up at 11:45, a fantastic and very fresh breakfast was waiting for us. We loved all the tips ! This very particular place and staff made our experience perfect. We will definitely come back.

Indeed "hotel particular" in charming Aix en Provence. Gives a flavor of home, excellently located at the center of town within walking distance from most attractions, yet very quiet and secluded. The rooms are specious & comfortable , decorated in contemporary style and Art collection. Both hosts/receptionists were very kind and helpful with local tips. The relaxed and intimate living room produced a delightful event when we entered one night and met a couple from New Zealand that chose this place to celebrate their marriage proposal and we joined them and raised a toast with them..
Will definitely consider to re-visit soon.

We spent the two most extraordinary days and nights in this exquisite, impeccable and utterly heavenly property in the Mazarin side of Aix-en-Provence. Words can't do justice to the gorgeous, tasteful, beautifully kept and extremely luxurious Maison D'Aix.

We received a very warm welcome and were taken to the upstairs suite with its own balcony and amazing bathroom on arrival. In honesty, it was rather hard to leave the room it was so divine, but Aix is such a charming town, and the hotel so well located that we did manage to make it out of Maison D'Aix occasionally! (Be sure to wander down the Rue Italie in the Mazarin if staying at La Maison D'Aix and take full advantage of the gorgeous food and drink shops therein.)

Breakfast is served every morning in a lovely light room extending from the kitchen in the downstairs area and is perfect - deliciously ripe fruit salad, lovely coffee freshly made to your liking, the best croissants we had during our stay in Provence and super-fresh pink grapefruit or orange juice. No detail is forgotten at Maison D'Aix - tiny packets of Haribo were left on our pillow one night and miniature Tobelorones the next; bowls of sweets grace the entrance hall; coffee table books are available to help you while away the hours; the downstairs jacuzzi is sparkling, discrete and relaxing; cosmetics in the room are from Provence and beautifully scented with lavender; the bed was the comfiest bed in which I have ever slept.

Alexandrine is on hand at breakfast to help recommend restaurants or plan excursions and, as other reviewers have commented, her manner is the perfect combination of extremely knowledgeable and helpful but also discrete. This hotel is so very special and truly magical - it was the perfect place for us to escape our hectic city lives and have time to rest, relax and dream... I can't possibly recommend La Maison D'Aix highly enough, and we can't wait to return!

We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Maison D'Aix in late June. The property is incredible with beautifully appointed rooms and living spaces. The breakfast room was lovely and a delicious breakfast was served. The spa area is incredible...if only we had time to enjoy it. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends. The location is just a few blocks from the main shopping area and markets.
