despite being in france and having vowed to have french food only, we could not resist having dinner at "le riad". the restaurant looks rather unspectacular from the outside but opens up into a very nicely decorated indoor restaurant with a patio. we did not have a reservation but were given a nice table and received some seasoned chick peas as an amuse guele straight away. what followed was a feast for all senses. the shared starter platter was nice but the main menu - lamb tajine and merguez couscous - were absolutely wonderful and truly enjoyable. the seasoning was a point, the richness of the sauces, the wonderful smell of the dried quince - simply perfect. the service was extremely friendly and efficient. a definite highlight!
