“Excellent hospitality & beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2011

I could not be happier with our stay here. We celebrated our honeymoon in France and spent two nights in Le Pavillon de Beauregard b&b.
The estate is a little distance outside of the city center, but that is a GREAT thing because the views once you reach the estate are gorgeous!! The rooms are so comfortable and have beautiful bathroom facilities, the even leave l'occitaine products, nice! He fills the fridge with beverages (all complimentary) and makes the bed while you're gone.
The host is such a hospitable nice, man, I would recommend you stay here for this reason alone.

Can't wait to go back one day!

Our family of 5 just returned from a magical 10 days in France, 4 of which were spent in Provence where we wisely chose the Pavillon de Beauregard for our home base. We couldn't have possibly chosen a more perfect place to lay our heads down each night. Located up in the hills just (literally) outside the city limits of Aix-en-Provence, we were close enough to be in the center of town in 8 minutes, yet we felt miles and miles away from civilization, which was precisely the venue we had sought. We took both rooms that the Pavillon offers -- kids in one room, parents in the other -- so we had the stunning pool and well equipped outdoor kitchen all to ourselves. Both rooms have been beautifully renovated and were immaculately clean and maintained (something that is of utmost importance to us), Hot water was plentiful for showers and baths (very relaxing in the clawfoot tub), the complimentary soaps and shampoos smelled heavenly and the antique furnishings were completely charming.
Each morning we awoke to the sound of birds and were greeted by a beautifully laid breakfast table in the garden overlooking the pool and the city far below. What a perfect way to start each day. Jerome and his mother couldn't have been more gracious, welcoming and helpful. We would return in a second and hope to one of these days. If you are considering a stay in Provence and would like a rural experience with the convenience of a large city like Aix at your feet, we can't recommend Le Pavillon de Beauregard highly enough.

We recently visited Le Pavillion with two small children and stayed in the Romantic room. The room was beautifully furnished and two small fold-out beds were provided at an extra charge. The room was very spacious and comfortable for a family of four. We had a fantastic view of Aix from our room window as well as a view of the beautiful pool.

Jerome and his mother were very gracious hosts and provided a lovely and calm atmosphere to this beautiful home. I would recommend the Romantic room for a family, however, you do have to climb a stairway to use all bathroom facilities--might be difficult for families with very young children.

The location was perfect because it was literally 10 minutes from the center of Aix en Provence, but it was located on top of a hill so you are removed from the noise in the city. I would highly recommend Le Pavillion for those who are looking to have a countryside Provencal experience.

The Pavillon has gradually been brought back from years of neglect by Jerome Voeux and his mother, a gifted artist whose paintings are reminiscent of Miro and Matisse. They are the kindest and most civilized of hosts -- even allowing me to use their personal computer for my daily e-mail fix.
This 12 acre estate on the edge of Aix has terrific views from its excellent pool. The poolside has an outdoor kitchen where we cooked and ate dinner on two evenings, rather than face the descent to Aix and its problematic traffic and parking. Restoration of the remainder of the grounds is ...a work in progress. (The path to the pool looks a bit rough -- but who cares?)
Our room, La Pastorale, was immaculate, beautifully furnished and well equipped with rain-forest shower, a mini-fridge stocked with free soft-drinks, local candies, thick towels...Breakfasts, served in the family salon, were generous and served with great style -- a different china service and colour scheme each day!
As Monsieur Voeux said, "Faites comme chez vous" est la devise de la maison -- "Make yourself at home" is the motto of this house. If Aix attracts you but you do not want to be in the centre, this is the place to stay.

Friendly host, great central place close to the Verdon (canyon) , Cassis ( beach) , Arles (van Gogh). We were even invited to drink a glas of Champagne when we arrived.

New pool with outside kitchen and grill where you can make your own food in the gorgeous surroundings. Great view over the surroundings from the pool area. You can count the stars when swimming at night!

Its close to Aix en Provence and close to a bakery and supermarket. ( 5 minute drive)

We have recently returned from a trip to Provence, and absolutely loved this place. It's an old hunting lodge about 10 minutes drive from the centre of Aix, perched at the top of a hill at the end of a long winding drive. It's in a wonderful setting with panoramic views of the countryside.

Our sizeable room, La Pastoral, was gorgeous, and recently refurbished. It had a flagstone floor, a few simple pieces of traditional French furniture, and a very comfy bed. The modern bathroom fittings - fab stone basins and designer chrome taps, plus the wet room with a stone mosaic tile floor - were a great contrast to the old-style charm of the room. There was a roll top bath too. The room has its own private entrance, which was handy, and a little private seating area outside.

Jerome, our host, was very personable and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast (coffee, juice, croissants, bread and jam) was served in the main house, in an old dining room with a great big open fire in the corner, and an imposing grand piano (which we were invited to play but declined for fear of scaring other guests!).

There is an infinity pool, which we didn't get to use, and the rambling garden leads to open countryside and some great walks.

All in all this was great value, and we would definitely recommend it. Aix is a fabulous town, and it was handy to be so close, but without the high price tag of some of the other hotels there.

Just one caveat - there is a steep path up to the dining room, so it may not be suitable for anyone who isn't too steady on their feet. Also, you really need a car, as it would be a very long and tiring walk from the centre of town!

This character property sits in a peaceful location on a hill just outside Aix-en-Provence but within a few minutes drive of the town centre.

There are only two guest rooms in this former hunting lodge, the rest of the building being lived in by the family who are extremely friendly and helpful. Jerome, the proprietor, came to greet us as soon as we arrived and carried our luggage in from the stable yard where there is ample parking.

We had the Pastoral room which was well appointed and quiet with a very comfortable bed, monsoon shower (and separate bath), his and her washbasins, a small, silent fridge and its own small terrace. Breakfast was in the guest dining room complete with original paintings and a grand piano which was available for guests to play. The tablecloths and glass and chinaware were of a different design and colour coordination each day. The continental breakfast was ample and we were always offered more. We were told that on warmer days breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking some of the grounds with Aix in the background.

On our first night there we decided to have a informal evening meal on our terrace and on seeing what we were doing Jerome's mother came round with a tablecloth for our wrought iron table along with a bread knife. (There were wine glasses already in our room!)

Altogether, we enjoyed a very pleasant stay here and were made to feel very welcome.
