“Little rules: fitness centre not open UNTIL 10 am!!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

The apartment was very clean and we had clean towels every day but didn't need them and would have preferred a hair dryer in the room, we had to ask at reception every time we wanted to wash our hair! The location and staff were excellent, we really enjoyed the river bus to take us to the old port and the fact we were so close (walking distance) from the harbour & railway station.
Our 1 bed apartment no B 009 was on the ground floor and was big enough for 4 people (we were 3) but was such a bad design that we had to climb over the sofa bed in order to get to the loo in the night! It would have been easy to arrange things differently if they got rid of the fixed table! We stay in this sort of accommodation often and many have a much better design.

The pool was warm, a bit old, but covered which is the reason we booked the apartments. The pool chairs and loungers were dirty looking. The fitness centre looked really good with running machine cross trainer and rowing machine but sadly we couldn't use it because it didn't open until 10 am! They did breakfast from 8 am in the next room so I could see no reason for it to be closed, in fact asked one of the evening receptionists and she said if it was her in the morning we would be able to use the machines but not the pool, but alas in the morning we got a firm NO!

The bed had a sheet directly onto a plastic sheet so the first night was a bit sweaty but then we re made the bed with the blanket under the sheet which was fine.

Take your own chopping board for some reason this type of apartment never seem to have one.

I would go back again if I new the fitness centre would be open for my morning exercises but if not it was on the pricy side.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms have no access from the apartment to the patio but you can pass things throug...

The room is sold as appartment, but actually it is no hotelroom and no appartment.
The room offers a lousy small sofa bed, instable, noisy and very uncomfortable. In an appartment you would expect a bed and a sofa and not a sofa bed. The bed is made upon arrival, so there is not place to sit at night except for the high chairs at the breakfast table.
The room is very basic and uncomfortable, e.g. no hooks to hang up things, closet is cleaning cupboard at the same time. Television does not offer any international channels, no hairdryer available.
Bathroom is big, but the shower is not suitable for normal european sized persons (extremely small), no place to put bottles and equipment in shower and bathroom.
The location is good, 10 min. walk to La Rochelle city centre, parking is perfect.
The place is clean. Opening hours swimming pool, hamman and front office very limited. Price/quality relation bad.

We (two adults/two small children) stayed here over the weekend - 3rd February. Excellent location - 15 minutes from the old port, the aquarium and the maritime museum. The quartier was dead on a Sunday and only the local "Subway" open. No matter - we had a excellent meal of galettes/crepes in town.

The complex is fairly new. We had one with a proper bedroom and proper bed and the children had a double sofa/bed in the living room. My wife was woken by traffic noise but I didn't notice it. (BTW there are two balconies with tables and chairs)

Large bathroom with shower and toilet. Plenty of hot water. Kitchenette adequate.

We paid an extra €10 for undercover parking.

The welcome was very good - very helpful and friendly lady (who also found me a filter for the cafetiere (coffee-maker).

We would have given this place 5 out of 5 but it lost points for the tiny swimming pool and the water and dust in the garage - which got on our Mercedes-Benz floor carpet. Apart from that - excellent.

Room Tip: I note that people complain about the sofa-beds being very uncomfortable. Probably worth paying the...

Friendly staff, great location for town & restaurants (10 min walk), functional apart-hotel that does exactly as it advertises. Clean, modern rooms, well equipped. Feels a bit clinical & industrial in its clean modern design. Good patisserie / coffee shop a few doors down. Would stay again...

Fantastic access to the impressive old port of La Rochelle. Just walk up the road and you are greeted by the amazing view of the fortified harbour. Ample free parking and free wifi. Couldnt get internet telephone calls to work, but now realise this is solved if you ask the hotel to enable certain ports on the router (and firewall?). (eg for Viber TCP 5242 abd 4244 and UDP 5243 and 9785).

Breakfast was very good quality and value for money. Proper fruit juice and v nice coffee. Even had jam from my local area! (Wilkin & Sons of Tiptree, Essex.) But confess to consuming more Nutella with the tasty croissants.

Rooms were very clean and new. On google earth the area is a building site, so imagine its very new.
The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant, and I was very glad of their grasp of English as I can't parlez beyond Bonnet de Douche!

Location was perfect, with a carrefour supermarket just round the corner. Was also grateful of the local fast food establishments within walking distance on one occassion.

Great trip...can't wait to go again next year.

Yes its near the harbour and old town and its modern but the design of the rooms is awful. Lots of space wasted. Small shower in huge bathroom TV behind folding table. No bar or lounge facilities

Problem its a small number apartments trying to be a hotel -it doesn't work

We booked this hotel for a few days on the way to Spain, unfortunately my son broke his leg 4 days before departure and we will not be able to travel. The hotel was very unsympathetic and we will have to pay for two nights stay. I would advise booking this hotel if there is any risk your plans change. £270 Euros down the drain!
