The friendly bilingual waitress gave us a nice table overlooking the Charente river... it was quite cold outside so we decided to stay inside though the terrace is lovely and the gardens very tempting. The decor is truly contemporary and done in dark moody greys livened up with a luscious pink on some of the walls.
We had a lunch there to celebrate our anniversary and it lived up to expectations! Other diners (French and English) were also celebrating birthdays etc. We decided to order from the menu as we didn't feel hungry enough to have 3 courses.
My OH had a steak which he was glad he'd ordered well-done as it was slightly more medium (when in France!!) He said it was beautifully cooked and melted in the mouth. I asked for the seafood platter as a main course and that was delicious with langoustines, huge prawns, cockles and oysters (which I left on the plate!) The platter was 15 euros which is very good value. Our desserts were equally wonderful - a pear tarte tatin with ginger, and a raspberry creme brulee.
Would love to go there again one day!
