“Super!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

A family of 4, we had a 1 night stay over in Nantes before flying home. We wanted to see the Cathedral and the Castle in the short time that we were there. Both are a short walk from this hotel. The room was lovely and very spacious, with a separate kitchenette - comfy clean beds, bright rooms with huge floor to ceiling windows. It's nice to stay somewhere with a bit of character. Staff at reception helpful, and you are in the centre of everything, from shops, to restaurants, to tourist sites. We had a little bit of a problem finding the hotel initially as there is a lot of road works going on in downtown Nantes - phone ahead if arriving by car, they will direct you to a nearby cark park. Would highly recommend a stay here - we will be back!

Room Tip: Room 101 was great!

We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2013. The room was basic but clean. The bed was comfortable. The kitchenette was wonderfully stocked with cookware and dishes. What really sells this place is its location! It is only a 2-3 minute walk to the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, as well as to many other wonderful sights in the old city. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Nantes short-term!

Very happy with this place and will stay here in the future. Right in the heart of the town, walk everywhere, block away from the train and the Castle. Our room was on the top floor, huge space. Living room/bedroom separate from kitchen which had it's own door to close out any food smells.

Not a lot of parking around there. We drove in and parked on the outside of town and cabbed in. Worked best. Also, a block away by one of the center squares, looks like a department clothing store, downstairs is a full grocery/market store. We used it and stocked up for the week. Washing/dryer downstairs in building too.

Very happy we stayed here and will start to stay at their properties around France.

Room Tip: Ask for the top floor with the large room. It is just the one they gave us, but I saw some other roo...

This hotel is lovely, bright and clean. We stayed in a large apartment on the top floor, amazing value. Staff were helpful and friendly. However when we got down for breakfast, half an hour before last serving, we were very disappointed to find all 23 tables had dirty dishes, no coffee and food was almost totally gone. When I complained I was told they were short staffed. They refunded charge for breakfast but it spoiled our experience. There is a nightclub directly outside hotel so it was noisy at night. Pity, it showed great promise on arrival.

We stayed here for one night on arrival to Nantes. We were up and travelling since 6am and when we arrived with our 16 month old in the afternoon, we were told that there was no baby cot available for him and that our booking web site Octopus has phoned us advising us in advance. We supposedly agreed that this was okay and the child could sleep in the bed with us. This was certainly not the case, we were never contacted in advance of our arrival by the booking web site or Hotel. The Manager advised us that all she could do was maybe when she went out that evening doing the shopping was but a baby cot for that night (in a tone that left us to believe that it was out duty to do it!) When my husband asked to see the only broken available baby cot, the manager I think her name Marieta (open to correction) went up stairs to show him it and he found two unused baby cots on the corridor.. which would leave you to believe that this was just a story she was going to chance with anyone who booked one of these cots and as they were one short..they hoped that someone would just fall for the story!) The apartments are well located, clean but our one small. Breakfast was nice and a great selection on offer. The evening reception staff was very friendly and could not be more helpful. Other than the bold faced attitude of the manager in this accommodation and no A/C in small apartments it was an enjoyable stay

Stayed here for 4 days in june 2012 in a double room.
The hotel is centrally located a 10 min walk from the train station and close to the centre of town and the castle.

Room was of ok size, and really good value for a low price. Small kitchen area with fridge. Bathroom was ok but a bit small.

We did not try the breakfast here as it was very expencive, and not good value for monety. Instead I would recommend to try out one of the many cafes in the street right outside the hotel. We ate breakfast outside every morning and got a much better deal there than we would have inside the hotel.

The hotel itself is ok and you really have everything you need in the room, and the staff is mostly helpful.

I would recommend asking for a room with views to the backyard. We had a room towards the "pubstreet" and it was kind of noisy there at nights.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the street so you won't be bothered by noise from the pubs outside at ni...

It wasn't so fancy it felt uncomfortable and given the chance (and if work was paying) I would certainly stay there again. The suites are similar to a 1 br apartment with a mini kitchenette including a fridge, which is useful. They are well decorated in calming wood/green colours. The bathroom had only a shower not a tub and the hairdryer in the suite was rather pitiful. I was in a room with a small balcony (a nice touch I always appreciate) overlooking the tram line. There was construction outside which looks to be a rather big ongoing project, this along with the tram line did contribute some noise in the early mornings. I was not bothered by it though since I figure any good traveler should have a decent pair of earplugs on them (and an eyecover to block out light). Overall a lovely hotel. Also within a few steps is a decent bakery for breakfast and within a few more steps many restaurants and retail stores.

Room Tip: If you pick a room that is quiet you might not get a balcony.
