We booked at this restaurant after reading the many glowing reviews..and were a bit disappointed!
We sat in the "cave" downstairs, which was highly recommend, and were not amused by the musty
mildew scents down there...oh well, it looked nice.
I ordered the aiguilettes of Canard, which should be very tender and flavorful, but they were tough, full of sinews, no herbs or spices, and quite disappointing....with a brown gravy of no discernible taste.
My husband had the Emince of beef, the specialty of the house topped with foie gras, which was very strangely sliced in thin slices and stacked like the Kebob places, again with a brown gravy...only the foie gras was tasty!!
Our client had the entire magret de canard, which looked good, again with a brown gravy and no
rosemary or spices.
The plates were served with "legumes" which consisted of a curious trio of potatoes....whipped potatoes,
a disc of potatoes under the meats, and a stuffed small potato....not a green or colored legume in sight.
The only potatoes that were good were the whipped variety....so strange....
And so, we were very disappointed after all of the reviews...hope the next person to review has a much
better and a better tasting at this restaurant...or perhaps it was the "good chef's" night off?????
