“GREAT LOCATION - FINE FOR A SHORT STAY/STOPOVER”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

This was a weekend trip to see the MotoGP. This place has a superb location being opposite the terminus of the tramway. The circuit is at the other end so this has to be one of the most civilised ways to go bike racing - no traffic queues and no car park scrambles. Easy to find from the motorway.
The hotel is fairly basic and does hike its prices for the race weekend - our Sunday night was half the price of Friday and Saturday but this seems standard practise in Le Mans.
My room was clean and fresh and the bed was comfortable. Furniture is sparse to say the least and the shower curtain wraps itself around you at every move! My only real gripe was the lack of a reading lamp - it's almost impossible to read in bed so take your own torch!
The staff were excellent - we seemed to be the only Brits there but the staff spoke excellent English and were only too pleased to help. Mislaid room cards were replaced with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.
Breakfast was no feast but at €5 not overcharged either. All bread and pastries were fresh and there was plenty of coffee and juice.
We'll definitely book in here for next year's race weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back - the view is rubbish but it's nice and quiet

Not much more than a bed with four walls wrapped around it. No furniture (no room) except one small chair. A small writing desk on one side of bed serves as work place and night table. In one corner a shelf with a bar below with only three hangers. Entire room was 9 x 15 feet including a corner cut away by a prefabricated plastic bathroom worthy of the smallest cruise ship facility. Entire bathroom about six square feet. But, rate was only 38 Euros and breakfast at 5.50 each was adequate (for France which gives horrible value everywhere in hotel breakfasts). Free parking and located at a tram stop where you can ride in to Lemans city in thirteen minutes for 1.40 euros each way, get off the tram right at the medieval old town, walk around or grab a meal for two hours, and be back at the hotel with less than three hours invested and 5.60 euros transport cost. It was clean but beyond austere. I asked for an extra pillow - not available! Desk clerks obviously university students and spoke passable English and were as helpful as they could be advising on tram usage. Tram trip into city highly recommended!

Room Tip: Quiet area so all rooms same in that respect. We were on ground floor and I did not see an elevato...

Ideal place for a stopover if you are travelling towards Bordeaux. The location is ideal, just off the Motorway. There is a supermarket nearby and a pizzeria nearby. there is a tram Stop nearby.
Although the rooms are not very big it is ideal for a late night stopover. The receptionist spoke very good English and were extremely helpful.

Went to the Classic Le Mans 2012, and stayed for 3 nights at this hotel. The young man on reception was very helpful with tram times, and gave us a timetable. The tram stop is literally across the road,, and takes 10 minutes to reach the MMArena where you get off for the circuit. The hotel room itself is basic, but clean, double bed with a single over, so good place to dump your luggage! the bathroom was a little snug but we managed. It has free private onsite parking which is good, if you drive to le mans which we did for the night racing it takes about 5 minutes., easy to access and to find. The breakfast was very poor, fruit, yogurt, cereal, croissant, could have had some meat and cheese included. Other hotels we have stayed in which would be classed as BUDGET, do have a better selection. This hotel is also very close to the Bugatti Museum, which is well worth a visit. All in all would stay again, wanted to this year for the 24hr but it was full, boo hoo.

Room Tip: Unless you get a breakfast included rate, don't have the breakfast, better to have coffee and ca...

The good bits: - Very friendly staff and inexpensive.

The not so good bits: - The room was so small I'm glad I hadn't packed the cat! And as for the shower - tiny and impossible to get an even temperature of water. No kettle etc, only one pillow each, minute towels, scruffy fittings. Miles from any bars and restaurants.

Rather glad we were there for one night only.

I stayed here with a bunch of motorcycling friends on Monday. I knew it was cheap so I was expecting the worst. How wrong could I be. It's only a few minutes drive from the peage avoiding the city centre altogether. So very easy to arrive and depart.
The staff were welcoming and really helpful with good English, in fact better than in some of the more expensive hotels we stayed in. Our rooms were small, basic but functional. Breakfast was €5.50 per person and again better than in some of our hotels charging €10 pp for the same self-service stuff.
Getting into the centre of Le Mans is really easy and convenient. Leave your motorcycle/car in the hotel car park. Walk to the Universite tram stop/terminus across the street. The service is frequent and cheap. We were told the last return tram was at midnight. Therefore, no need to worry about parking or drinking & driving.
I would definitely use this hotel again.

Apart from being in a noisy room at the front of the hotel, Mr Bed has numerous advantages. The reception staff were super helpful and being so close to the tram stop was great - just 15 minutes into the centre of Le Mans, and very cheap travel. The hotel room was small and basic but clean. Fine for overnight!
