“Clean, decent size room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

Clean & tidy, good sized room. Great value for money @ 43€ / night which included parking in secure lot, at back of hotel. only 2 criticisms would be energy saving lights in corridors - which meant all were pitch black whenever you came / went. And if you check in between 10am - 4pm, you have to go to mecure next door, however, they were v helpful, just makes checking in a bit long winded

As always with Etap this was a great value for money, en suite, flying visit roadside hotel. I have used Etap regularly over the last couple of years and find them hard to beat. However, this one I found hard to get out of! I often leave an Etap before the staff arrive in the morning and usually this is no problem. But Le Mans hasn't got a front door that you can get out of once locked, and the basement door to the car park .......... well. The idea is that you exit the back door (no problem) which takes you onto the car park. Then, as you are in a totally enclosed yard, you go to the Accor Hotel next door where supposedly they have 24 hr staffing and they let you out. Nobody there! It took 25 minutes of knocking on windows to find someone. If you stay here make sure you are leaving during staffing hours. Otherwise very good as usual.

This ETAP hotel is locate within easy walking distance of the cathedral and old town of Le Mans which is well worth the effort to see. Visit one the many and varied restaurants and enjoy the relaxed pace of the evening and then in summer what the lighting displays.
The hotel is clean, the staff welcoming and helpful. Our room was a little noisy with the window open but this quietened down within a reasonable time. the on site car park is shared with the adjacent Mercure hotel and becomes very congested if you arrive late.

by far the worst Etap hotel we have stayed at!
the only saving grace was the secure car parking! we had no real trouble getting in (although we had to use the mercure button to get an answer).
the room was basic, the TV reception and channels were poor 5 channels only.
the street outside was covered in dog mess.
the only access to the hotel was through the Mercure next door, staff were virtually non existant only saw the receptionist and the breakfast room woman who didn't seem to give a hoot about anything!
thankfully we only stayed 1 night!!
restaurants in the area were"open" but no one to serve anyone, the town was nice but like a ghost town for food (we eventually got an average meal in the square at around 7.30pm
! won't be rushing back there again ever!

The last Etap hotel in our circuit, this hotel is situated at 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral and the beautiful medieval Le Mans. The parking used to be 5 euros but now it is free. While there is a slight smell in the halls, the rooms were big (the biggest from all the Etap hotels that we've been in) and clean. Also there was a dedicated breakfast room, and the receptionist of the nearby Mercure hotel (they share the same closed parking) were kind enough to let us use the tables outside in the evening.

Part of Etap chain follows standard Etap layout... but seems to be manned more! Wifi did not work at all. Room was generally clean but there was a bit of grafitti under bunkbed.
Location is good town centre bars and restaraunt all walkable. On a tighter budget there is an excellent pizza shop very close by (has an advert in the lobby - 2 for 1 pizzas)
