“Beautiful B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

This property is located about a 20-25 minute walk from downtown Rouen. If you are not inclined to walk much you will need to use your car or take taxis. We were welcomed with a beverage, and received advice about local restaurants and sites. The room was spacious, furnishings and decor were beautiful, and very clean, and the bed linen, towels , breakfast settings and serving pieces were elegant. Food at breakfast was fine but average.

A wonderful place to stay in Rouen and Catherine made us all feel very welcome! The home is so tastefully decorated yet doesn't feel stuffy or intimidating and it was really a special B & B. I would definitely recommend staying here when in the area.

Le Clos Jouvenet delivers all the aspects that other reviewers have listed and is indeed a rare gem. If you stay here on a visit to Rouen, on your way to or from Calais, you will be rewarded with a very special atmosphere.
One word of warning however: Check whether your room is suitable for elderly or disabled guests as our room was up a steep flight of stairs. That said, this is THE place to stay in Rouen, and your host, Catherine de Witte could not be more welcoming or charming.
We'll definitely be back.

Le Clos Jouvenet had everything that one hopes to find to spend a comfortable night while on holiday: lovely spacious and clean rooms with delicious fresh breakfast. But it is the added value that made it stand out: the access to a wonderful old property built in 1840 in a quiet and residential part of Rouen (on a hill with magnificent views) which made you feel more like a house guest and the welcome from Madame de Witte who speaks excellent English and is very happy to share her knowledge of the town and its surroundings to make your stay even more interesting and special.

Room Tip: Stayed in Le Verger - with views over the garden - which is a lovely bright room with equally spacio...

We are now spoilt for the rest of our France trip-we started with the best. Our hosts Catherine and Boudain were warm, hospitable and helpful. The breakfast room overlooking the stunning garden was an added bonus.

Room Tip: City view was lovely

A wonderful place to stay with beautiful views and fabulous hosts. Nothing was too much problem and they seemed genuinely happy to share their house. Catherine spoke good English, and German I believe. The rooms were so stylish, boutique style. They had everything you could want, fresh linen every day, tea and coffee facilities and a plentiful breakfast. We were given a key to come and go as we please. The place is situated about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Rouen where there are plenty of places to eat. Catherine will give you a map and explain how to get from A to B and also to recommend good places to eat. You are welcome to sit in the beautiful garden on her sun loungers or at her garden table, they seemed to be fine if you were around in the daytime, although we were generally out between 10.30 to 4pm. Highly recommended, I am sure it will be difficult to find accommodation better than this with such wonderful hosts!

Room Tip: our group had two rooms and each had a good sized separate shower and toilet. Only one of our rooms...

This is a beautiful and elegant house in a quiet peaceful part of Rouen. The walk to the centre of town is easy and pleasant enough through quiet streets (rather than along busy roads.) Really wonderful breakfast and very useful information about local places to eat. (Try the one which specialises in lamb dishes which was a real treat and which we would never have come across without Catherine's advice)
