“Clean and adequate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Stayed here for one night and found it to be clean and adequate. It wasn't the biggest bedroom I have ever stayed in, however, if all you want is somewhere to sleep for a night after a long journey back to the ferry then it is fine. There was a good selection of food at breakfast. My one criticism is the size of our bathroom, small was the understatement. I'm not a 'big' girl but I struggled even to get undressed and subsequently dried in there, let alone my partner who is 6ft tall and has a 48" chest! That was hilarious! One tip - we paid for the hotel prior to staying via a website in the UK and paid just over £30.00, worth that price. If you just turn up the price for a double room was 88.00 euros, definitely not worth that price.

I left my wallet and telephone upon my arrival for ten minutes at the reception, which got consequently stolen. I would have thought it as a unfortunate travel incident but the hotel staff acted really weird about it: they didn't want to inform the police for me, then when I asked to see the camera recordings for that ten minutes (camera was pointing exactly at where I left them) they got all weird. They told me to come back in one hour, then two, then the next day, then Monday, then with a police report and when I did all of that, they still didn't agree to retrieve the recordings. All along it felt very weird and like they were a bit too offensive.. Whatever the truth to the theft is, I would recommend staying away from this establishment just to be on the safe side.

This hotel has multiple issues:
1. No wireless internet even though it is advertized, it hardly works and definitely no VPN
2. All hotel doors are closed at 9pm so don't come after 9pm! We went out late and were given a code to enter through front doors but the keypad was broken so we had to wait for an hour to be able to get into the hotel. Just horrible.
3. Rooms are tiny and quite worn out.

a very nice little hotel with friendly staff. when we first checked in we got a very small room and asked for a bigger. They gave it to us without questions.

The only problem we saw was with the phone. We used a toll free calling card (to check buisness calls at our own business at home) and made a couple of other toll free calls...............so we thought ......upon check out we were presented with an invoice for 74 plus Euros..... and when we questioned it we were told by the girl working that we had to pay it.... Hubby demanded to speak to the manager whoch he was able to by phone. The Manager very rudely told him to pay the bill...... or they would call the police...... very uncooperative or even willing to discuss it.

This really put a bad taste in our mouth with an otherwise wonderful experience in Le HAvre

Room Tip: be AWARE of long distance charges being out rages............. something like $1.50 per minute for i...

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved our room. We had a superior room which had a lovely bath. It was all spotlessly clean and had a seperate walk in area with a double wardrobe. it wasn't the biggest room but was plenty big enough. The breakfast room was immaculate with a good selection of buffet foods. One member of staff (a young woman who spoke quite good English) was lovely and very helpful.
If you stay and want somewhere local and great to eat there is a little place a few doors down, go out of the hotel and turn left and cross one road and the place has all coloured pictures in the windows. Great food and a great guy who owns it. And very reasonable.

Room Tip: Go for a superior room.

Pleasantly surprised by this hotel in a provincial, port city.

Recently renovated, the linens and bathroom fixtures were top-rate. Calm, tasteful decoration. Housekeeping maintains the premises impeccably. Front-desk staff was attentive and efficient.

Visitors should note: rooms are small, even by French standards.
