“Wow! What a find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I have just had a very enjoyable few days holiday at this location. The house has a lot of character, charm and appeal and is situated in a fantastic location, close to the town and harbour, with off street parking only 1 minute away.
On Saturday morning’s a local market is held by the harbour which has some really good stalls and there is a large choice of restaurants within the town. You are able to get a bus or drive to the very exquisite seaside town of Deauville, which is about an hour away.
The kitchen upon arrival appeared to be clean and had all the necessities that one would require for a self-catering base. The bedroom that I used on the second floor contained two very good pull out beds, one of which I slept on, and it was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in whilst away on holiday. It was clean and spacious and had a very up to date DVD player, within the Television, that one could watch a selection of films upon.
The toilets and showers were both in good working order whilst I was there and there did not appear to be any problems with the sanitation. Linen and towels were supplied for the duration of the holiday.
I would certainly consider staying at this property again, should I visit Hon Fleur again

“Great location... All downhill from there.”

This home is in the lovely town of Honfleur, and the location was superb, just a block away from the main street leading to the harbor. That is the best quality of this very basic residence. Unfortunately, like another reviewer here, we arrived to find a very dirty, stuffy house with no sheets or towels. After two trips to the rental agency we got enough sheets though they were mismatched and some too small for the beds. We got hand cloths but no bath towels. We were told the owner was supposed to take care of those. Meanwhile we discovered both showers were out of order and one toilet was also broken. A plumber arrived the next day and fixed one toilet and shower but not the other shower, which remained broken our entire five night stay. After two days of pleading with the rental agency, they bought us bath towels at the supermarket so we could take a shower in the one working shower. The plumbing is primitive and an extremely loud pump that sounds like an old Sears washing machine spinning a load of ten towels must run at all times or else the toilets back up and fill the showers. It will wake you up! But don't turn it off or you will have a mess. The house is very aged (which we found charming) with steep stairs and four floors, but not well maintained. Don't count on using the fourth floor attic room as the beds are terrible and it is musty. The sitting room on the third floor was dirty but had two decent pullout beds where we put our three children. The television has no reception but no matter - you will want to explore the town instead - because the town is lovely in contrast to the house! The one bedroom has a double bed with attached bath. The kitchen on the ground floor was filthy but had the basics. That is where the other full bath is, along with a closet containing an inoperable and mildewy washing machine (we went to the nice Laundromat by the tourism office instead.) Each room is small - keep in mind the owner has used a special lens to make it look roomier than reality. All in all the place is not without its intrinsic charms but it is not kept up in any way. I have lived in three developing countries and don't expect much in terms of quality - and granted this house has reasonable fees - but it really falls short of reasonable standards. Come with low expectations and spend your time outside. Vive La France - but flee la house.

“Excellent value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012 for a stay in March 2012

The location, one street back from the yacht basin, is ideal. It's also around the corner from La Foret, the managing agent, and close to the Post Office bus stop, if you are travelling in from Caen or LeHavre. "Quirky" is a good adjective - it's four irregularly shaped floors mounted on top of each other. We found it very comfortable with all the facilities we needed (except wifi - nowhere is perfect). A previous review noted a lack of bedlinen. This has been rectified to the point of overkill - I've never stayed in a place with so much linen. We enjoyed a wonderful week in Honfleur in March. The booking process through Leighton and the check-in and check-out with La Foret were both handled smoothly. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rue Des Pres to my friends as an excellent value-for-money option.

“Excellent position , quirky house in a nice way”

The owner's description of the property is exact and he organized an infant camp-cot and high-chair to be available as we requested. The house is well-situated to the village shops, harbour and market area. Unfortunately the agent did not clean or air the house as we requested by email and linen wasn't available on arrival, although they did sort this out the same day The owner has agreed to take this up with the agent for future lets. We only used the kitchen/dining area, the bedroom with bathroom en-suite, on the first floor and the bedroom on the second floor. We did not use the top bedroom on the third floor, as didn't require it. On balance, we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay in Honfleur.

“Аутентичный дом с историей”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in January 2015
Google Translation
