Stopping just outside Monet's house we expected to be ripped off and get so-so food. We walked thru a car park to get in and were pleasantly surprised by a lovely garden setting with white iron tables and chairs and umbrellas where needed
Quite the opposite! We both had a seafood salad - absolutely amazing with smoked salmon, crumbled crabmeat topped with caviar over very fresh greens, mushrooms, green beans and white asparagus all mixed with a wonderful fresh dressing.
Don't miss dessert - awesome sorbet's. We had apple sorbet drizzled with Calvados and pear sorbet drizzled with a pear liquor. Amazing but the pear outshone the apple.
All this with a nice bottle of Bordeaux about 60 Euro and worth every penny.
Be forewarned - bees like both flowers and wine. If you're allergic be sure to eat inside! They were there first.
