What a glorious place. I have visited twice this year - in early May and mid July. Each had a very different, but gorgeous, floral display. I'm very envious of the gardeners. My reason for returning in July was that I felt I hadn't taken in the intricacies of the house sufficiently on my first visit as it was very crowded, being a Sunday. This time I arrived at lunchtime, took it more slowly and soaked up the atmosphere and paid closer attention to the Japanese prints. The village is lovely too.
